Tyms Suspended 4 games

It's worth noting that this is not something that was announced for the first time today.

why would they work the article that way then and date it today? Maybe becasue he had a good game?

I honesty never knew he had a PED test +

Good to know he shouldn't be a quick cut and snatched up by another team in need.
Absolutely ridiculous to be suspended for Adderall.
Especially hearing he is add, which th3 childhood he had its amazing that's all he's been diagnosed with.

Was on the NFL site and was reading their Moving Up and Down piece

Tyms was listed under Down

Brian Tyms, New England Patriots: One juggled pass away from six receptions for over 150 yards a pair of touchdowns against the Redskins on Thursday night, Tyms appeared to be making a run at a roster spot until his four-game suspension was announced the next day. A former practice squad member of the Dolphins and Browns, Tyms might have lost the best NFL opportunity he will ever receiver.

Uh not really. Means the Pats have 4 extra weeks to decide on him. They also knew he would be suspended just like they knew Browner would miss the first 4 games

Also hysterical that this guy thought Tyms got suspended on Friday instead of months ago. You write for the NFL, you can't take a few minutes to double check.

Yeah, Tyms being suspended is probably the best way for him to make the roster, him & Browner sitting 4 weeks is like giving the Pats a 55 man roster for the first month of the season.

One small nitpick is that we really don't know for sure what the substance is/was, since the NFL doesn't comment.

It is definitely safe to say that more than one player has used the "old Adderall" excuse, since Adderall is politically correct and doesn't reek of the negatively that say, other PED substances would.

The biggest thing that I don't understand is that if one really were ADD and seriously taking this medication, why wouldn't they just alert the team and the league the same way they are supposed to do?

This is like saying "we'll accept your medical marijuana license if you just notify us," and dozens of players are like---"I forgot to fill out the right paperwork...." With agents, team doctors, NFLPA team members, etc, you'd think that the process wouldn't be that difficult.

(not meaning to necessarily suggest that Tyms isn't truly ADD, for whatever it's worth)

JMC, You might want to more clearly distinguish your comments from those you comment on.

Hasn't Tyms been on 3 other teams?

and this is the first time it's been mentioned or tested for ?

Something is rotten in Denmark.

THE MYSTERY OF THE NEW/OLD NEWS SOLVED:

PatsFans did it.

Miguel tweeted about Tyms' suspension, since some seemed to be unaware of it. He was retweeted...
Volin does not follow me on Twitter. I tweeted your and RayClay about Tyms' suspension. Andy Hart retweeted my tweet. Ben then retweeted Andy Hart's retweet.

...and some lazy, lazy reporters down the line took this as "breaking news" that will sink Tyms' career.

SMH.

Just in case there's any continuing confusion:

The suspension was announced in April, long before Tyms became a Patriot. They knew about it when they signed him.

I think Tyms is this year's Bam Childress. Everyone will fall in love with him because he looks like a stud against the scrubs in the preseason and will never see the field.

I tweeted it to Ian Rapoport and Chris Wesseling that Tyms was not suspended on Friday but on April 21. Let's see what happens.

Why does everyone go all Bam Childress and ignores Shockmain Davis? Pisses me off.

I guess what really chaps my butt is how these same reporters are constantly placing themselves up on some pillar, claiming they are SOOOOO very professional, unlike, say, those pesky bloggers and fan commenters.

Yet, once again, we get the breathless reporting of BREAKING NEWS!!!11Eleventy!!! from another one of them.

Seems more like Breaking Wind is more appropriate for many of them these days.

/rant off
