Yes, it's just the first exhibition game, and we try not to read too much into it. But there may be players that convinced the Patriots that they just don't have what it takes to be competitive in the NFL, and that may lead to some roster cuts.

Who ya' Got (if anyone)?
Why?

Boyce, Finch, #99

Finch, Bucanon i think had a 15 yard personal foul thrown on him early leading to the Skins first TD.

Stephen Houston.

That was definitely "Not Ready For Primetime" performance. When he wasn't falling down at the LOS he simply fumbled.

Stephen Houston.

Doesn't look like the NFL is in his future.

Frankly, all of the UDFA running backs looked like...UDFAs.

This was my takeaway too, though to be fair none of the veteran or higher drafted RB's made much hay either. Still, we have some history with Ridley and Vereen to fall back on. These kids need to start standing out or there's no reason to keep them over a guy like Bolden.

Finch would be my guess. It's rare that you see a guy look so completely lost, even on a simple out route. I know a lot of people are rooting for him, but his size compared with the fact that he was clearly a dear in the headlights make him a canidate to get cut.

I would put Boyce on the bubble. He can KR well but as a WR, meh

Forty two. A couple terrible angles late, topped off with a terrible attempted arm tackle.

Well with Siliga and Chris Jones injured Vellano's chances of sticking around went waaaay up.

I bet BB is wicked pissed he can't go wholesale with cuts because he needs 22 bodies to staff meaningless PS game 4.

Michael Buchanan had a sack and 2 hits on the QB, he is still a developmental prospect especially against the run but he can get after the QB, Will Smith on the other hand looks to be DONE.

I think he needs to turn over the depth at RB and TE. Gray, Houston, Finch, Jones, and Watson were playing like they belonged on a flag football team not a NFL team.

No one is getting cut based on 1 preseason debacle. After that game, I think it easier to list the people who moved up on the roster than the ones that moved down. It seemed like few shined with the exception of Tyms, JG, Beauharnais and Butler.

Finch has some skilz
Steve Bearnaise didnt impress.

..and Jonas Gray makes three. I wouldn't be surprised to see a camp cut RB compete with bolden for a game or two.

Stephen Houston
Jonas Gray
Asa Watson
Roy Finch

This x1000. God was he awful.

For players, people saying Boyce and Buchanon need to stop overreacting after one game. Both are young / raw, but have shown flashes over the past 1+ years (whether in practice, preseason, or the regular season).

Yes, Buchanon was up and down all game, but he showed some good pass rushing skills. He just needs to work on being more consistent and setting the edge / holding his position. He's should be on-par w/ Chris Jones and Zach Moore.

Boyce had a frustrated Mallett (who had happy feet because his OL failed him) throwing to him for half of the game. Besides one stupid route where he ran into coverage, Boyce appeared to get open pretty easily (I know, against 2nd stringers). Problem was Tyms seemed to be JAG's go-to guy. Don't forget, Boyce showed flashes of major athletic potential last year in the handful of games he played before getting hurt. I specifically remember one screen / dump off, where he looked to have a higher gear than everyone else on the field. Plus if Dobson starts the year on PUP, there's a pretty good chance they'll go with a WR lineup of Edelman/Amendola/Lafell/Thompkins/Boyce/Tyms since the TE-depth look so shallow.
