The Official Patriots vs Redskins Preseason Game Thread

OH joy thanks for warning me that you will be talking about this kid all week. Now I know what I won't be listening to. I don't get excited about players who have ONE good performance. I need to see more before I am sold on him. I give him props for tonight, but I want to see him look good in the next three preseason games.

JAG feeling like a million and grinning like a Cheshire cat walking the sidelines. Walks by Brady who is engrossed in conversation and who totally ignores him.

This kid has created more buzz in one half than Mallet in 4 years. It's not a exaggeration, too

I'm just impressed Jimmy was ably to run the 2 minute offense so fluidly, and actually go 78 yards in 1 minute and score. Pretty great considering he was being reported as looking awful in camp, even if he is playing against "scrubs" as we call them.

Don't worry, he has been replaced by another player who is about to be overhyped.

Best takeaway of the night: JAG is fun to watch and Tyms is intriguing - for a "raw" talent, the kid can get separation and hold onto the ball.

Worst takeaway of the night: the emphasis in "illegal contact." Ridiculous - am I just a conspiracy theorist or is this league doing everything it can to get Manning another ring? How in the world is any defense supposed to stop a top QB if they're going to call penalties like the one on Browner in the 1st quarter?

LOL, yeah. I've been a member for 5-6 months or so and I already had my fair share of "Mallet is worth a high round pick" stuff

Garappolo made some very good throws. The bomb that Tyms almost caught, the sideline long gainer, and the TD pass were all beautiful passes. He was 9-13 (69%), for 157 yards, 1 TD and 0 INTs. Very impressive. So much for his horrible camp.

Tyms, I'm afraid if they try to sneak him onto the practice squad, he'll be snatched up on waivers. He's this year's Thompkins, though his measurables are even MORE impressive. Hate to say it, but I'd take him over Boyce, hopefully the Pats feel the same way.

Quick comment: #29 on defense- had a really good night- #29 on offense- not so much

Tyms had over 100 yards receiving. Could he be a surprise on the roster? Theres such a logjam at WR.

If Tyms keeps performing well, Boyce could be in danger.

ah yes, the player that would bring us the Sixth overall pick in the draft last year. That thread lasted WAY longer than it had a right to, and WAY to many co-signers that believed he was worth that king of return on investment after showing nothing up to that point

That he did. Limited sample size otherwise, but he sure needs to look better the next few games, for his own career.

If I were Boyce, I'd already consider myself in danger.

Tyms could be a find at worst he's a practice squad player.
I've been banging the Tyms drum for a while.
It's one game let's cut Mallett some slack.
I like Boyce people who want to see Boyce cut I'm not a fan because he can be a player with the reps and the talent.
