This is tough to watch...I knew brady wasn't playing but I had no idea half the other starters weren't playing either...ZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Finally, a good play against the Redskins run game.

JAG plays like Brian Hoyer based on this brief showing.
He's a different guy than the guy we saw in Foxboro

I wonder if this is a carry 2 QBs situation. I mean I know JAG is a rookie, but if TFB goes down does Mallett really offer that much more (or anything, really) than Jimmy? Bear in mind this is more an indictment of Mallett than anything else.

Running? BB must want us to be shut out. I think BB secretly likes when his team gets shut out in preseason cause he can tell them how bad they are.

Garoppolo's performance and comfort level pretty much offsets all the other badness... for me at least.

Amen. You can see the difference. Well Mallet and Jimmy G have three more games to show what they can do. I'm going to wait and see how it turns out.

I can't believe what I just saw. A Pat defender penetrating into the Redskin backfield. I'm sure Patricia will have a word with him.

First pre season game so nothing substantial to take out of it:

Things that need some work:

OL. Both Run and Pass Blocking.
DL. Run Defense, very very poor even for vanilla pre season standards.
LB play. All those guys out there are fighting for maybe 2 spots. I didin't see anybody really put their hand up and take one of those spots tonight.
Logan Ryan, I am not as high on Ryan as some here. I think he was exposed a bit by Denver last year in man coverage. He was beaten a couple of times tonight. But as i said, Pre Season, Game one. Take it with a grain of salt

Encouraging things:
Garopollo was ok. Not bad for his 1st game.
Tynes really made some plays tonight. You can talk about the competition e.t.c but you can only beat who's in front of you.
Buchannon and Moore flashed some pass rush early.
Malcolm Butler I think had some great coverage at CB. Even when he got beat it was a tough completion (that i can remember). Could have had 2 picks tonight if he held onto the ball.

They'll have to go some to beat the doom and bloomers here. Holy ****...

I think in pre-season he would rather lose 23-0 than win 23-0, especially if they look awful doing it because it means there's more to work on back in camp.

Results don't matter until the regular season starts, it's about coaching up and finding guys to fill the last few roster spots.

Is it me or does pre season get worse every year?

The Pats are really missing some depth in the dline and lb side. We miss the Dane Fletchers of the world.

Yes but now everyone is also confused as to WHY not only that we took Mallett where we did.....but WHY BB stuck with the guy so long and didn't offload him for a 4th rounder when is STOCK was highest and several teams NEEDED a QB....and THOUGHT Mallett was going to be great because he was STILL here with BB......after tonight's showing....might as well Cut the guy.......

Even if most of those guy are scrubs, some of them will make the roster, and as a team, it was an horrible exhibition tonight
