OK after seeing both guys at Ty Law Patriots HOF ceremony, it got me asking, which guy is the GOAT Pats safety?

We seen Lawyer Milloy's best years here. I think we can all agree during the Carroll years into the 2001 season he might have been the best player on the team.

With that, Rodney replaced Lawyer for the 2003 season, and didn't miss a beat. He was a huge part of those back to back SB teams, and might have been our most important player on that defense. He had some All pro seasons with us as well.

It was a tough choice, but I had to go with Harrison. Sucks cuz I love both guys, but RH might be my favorite Pat of all time....

What's your guys opinion?

RH was the better player but we got more of their best years from Lawyer.

Basically for a single season no one was better than Rodney but if you go with the entirety of their time here than Lawyer wins.

I feel like Rodney is the better all-around player. Milloy had talent, but Rodney is borderline HOF.

I agree. also, which one of these players made the players around them better and had to be accounted for by the opposing offense? Should clearly lead people to what I consider the right answer.

And if that doesn't do it, which player would you "least" like to get hit/tackled by?

I was watching those guys on the sidelines Friday night. Rodney and BB chatted for a long time. I didn't see Lawyer talk to BB; I wonder if those two are on friendly terms these days or if Milloy holds a grudge.

On the Pats site there is a picture of Belichick and Milloy talking. Who knows for how long though.

Vrabel talked about holding a grudge against BB for a while. The two are on good terms now according to the same article. BB's decision making is calculated and it can seem cold. He uses you and sometimes gets rid of you right before your decline. He does so while always keeping your contract to a reasonable number. Some players leave and enjoy the financial reward, but some never again enjoy the same success, individually or as a team. Some people will obviously say it's wrong for one reason or another, but it's part of what makes him perhaps the greatest coach we have seen or will have seen someday.

They both were big time hitters!

I was doing the same thing and BB and Milloy had a nice long conversation looked like no grudge to me.

But I was absolutely amazed by how long he talked to Rodney. He was next to him for at least 15 minutes. I was thinking Bill you got a practice to run.

Willie McGinest would like a word with you.

As to your question, Harrison all day long.

I came close to being halfway able to answer that question, albeit with my jaw wired shut.

Years ago after camp in Smithfield I was at Parente's restaurant where the Pats hung out. Milloy was outside on the steps talking to his agent over the phone. He finishes & I shout some wiseass remark about him needing to take the Pats offer. He was wicked pissed and I thought he was coming after me.

Like that guy who asked Clay Matthews? to tackle him, only less voluntary :D.

Milloy may have had more effective years with us but the 2 years that Rodney had pre-ACL injury should alone make him the choice. Despite all the talent we had, you never know what this defense would have been without Rodney's toughness and leadership back there, after 2002 it was clear we had issues at safety and I highly doubt Eugene Wilson would have been the answer alone ;)

Love Milloy but Harrison was a HOF caliber safety.
