Big Bad Browner

Nice job of making something up and calling it my belief.
This is what you said:

"I just don't understand how people can say that Wes Welker leaves the huddle looks across the field, see Earl Thomas and thinks "Oh my God I am so scared of that man"."

So you are disputing that if someone fears another, they are aware of it, and think about it?

So yea. .... this Brandon Browner guy is pretty awesome huh?

I'm looking forward to seeing Revis take away one receiver and Browner jam the hell out of the other with safety help over the top.

So when a fighter admits that he's afraid like former UFC ww champion GSP has done so, he's lying? The idea that you can compete against someone and have a fear of them seems to be lost on you. Fyi players don't just fear getting injured, they fear getting embarrassed as well. Both suh and Calvin Johnson were at the top of NFL players most feared lists for diffrent reasons. These guys are world class athletes, not superheroes.
I've stated a number of times that players fear many things: injury, losing their job, being embarrased among them. I have said, consistently all along, that I do not believe an NFL player is afraid of another NFL player.
I have explained this at great length.
Feel free to agree, disagree, laugh, cry, stand on your head and spit nickles.
Nothing in this thread has changed that opinion, and frankly responding to some of the ridiculous comments just isn't worth my time.

No, nor did I imply it. Normal people are aware of fear when they are experiencing a significant amount of it. The thing is, the conscious mind receives massive amounts of emotional and sensory data from the more primitive parts of the mind. Often times, when the degree of fear is low, the conscious mind may not be aware of it. Some disorders can cause he conscious mind to repress certain emotions completely.

The human brain is a strange things. Before sensory information reaches the conscious mind, it already has context and emotion tied to it.

I think it is safe to say for the purpose of this conversation that the level of fear we are discussing that would make one player be afraid of another would be something that is conscious.

You can't honestly believe this. For a couple of million /I'd/ get in the ring with him, and I can tell you, I'd be freaking terrified.
That is why you are not a professional boxer, did not fight and win many fights against similar competition in order to be able to be paid millions to fight him.
I do not dispute that you would be afraid. I'm sure you would be afraid to pilot a plane. A trained pilot is not, nor is a train boxer afraid to fight or a trained football player afraid of another one.[/QUOTE]

Well, no, there are plenty of other more germane reasons why I'm not a professional boxer.

But honestly, some of those guys we're flat out terrified to be in the ring with him. Sadly, my memory isn't good enough to remember names, but there was at least one guy who all but shat his pants in the first round.

I don't think I would be afraid to pilot a plane though. Never done it but I have hundreds of hours in various simulators. Just not the sort of thing that would scare me.

Harmon has had some jarring hits in college and he is bigger more mature now. I always said if Logan Ryan can step up to be a top flight #2 corner,Browner can play some safety. He and McCourty with his 4.3 speed could be one of best tandems ever. Chancellor is a slightly bigger thumper than Browner but his cover skills/ball skills aren't even close to Browners. Would you leave Chancellor man up with Brandon Marshall like Browner could.
Belichick and Browner both stated in pretty clear terms that he was brought here to play cornerback.

Haven't read everything here. For a receiver over the middle it was tension and anticipation,
along with expectation. Fear? No.

Last five pages are a brutal skim. What a waste of time and energy. Give all the participants an internet arguing derp trophy.

Can't wait to see Browner week 5.

Don't like hearing that the league is once again cracking down on anything that resembles "playing football" the same year our secondary becomes more physical...hopefully it doesn't turn into a case of bad timing.

I wish I could remember where I read this, but I do recall some writing/video on Lawrence Taylor, describing how offensive players around the NFL dreaded being assigned to block him for game day. Their nerves went up. Isn't that anticipation linked to fear?

Also, exactly how preposterous is it to believe that an NFL player could be scared of another? We've seen guys (receivers most often) get wrecked by defensive players and think twice about crossing paths again. Alligator arms, getting down on the turf early. Yes, some players do that stuff regardless of who is across from them, but then there are enforcers like like Jack Tatum, Rodney Harrison, John Lynch, Deacon Jones, who make offensive players 'rethink' their approach to a play. You have to think they're some players who 'influence' other players to 'play safe'

When week #5 arrives, whoever starts the next Browner gif thread must title it "Big Bad Browner: Take 2"

I can't believe Andy Johnson is still blabbing on. He should've just taken the L and moved on, 5 pages ago!

Love the physicality and I hate to sound like a downer, but I really hope he doesn't draw too many penalties . . . especially at critical times. He'll draw some, I'm sure. I just hope the Pats, who are consistently one of the least penalized teams in the NFL perennially, don't become one of the most penalized.

Hey guys,

Seahawks fan here. I figured you guys want to see a few more browner .gifs that I hadn't seen posted here in this thread. I didn't look around or anything else.

Here he is playing the pitchman and the RB against the Panthers. He plays this about as good as you can play it.

Here is another angle on the Welker play.

Here are a few of him playing a little bubble screen to Tavon Austin.

I really hope he works out well for you guys. You just need to give him safety help over the top since he can get beat deep but if you take care of that he is very effective.
