Do you have a link for that? A report up above had Connolly with the 1's. I'm sure in an ideal world the team would like one of the cheaper guys to earn the starting position, but based on Wendell's play last year and Stork being out, I want Connolly in there with the 1's.

Are you sure the report you saw wasn't from yesterday's practice?

They should have taken cj fiedorowicz instead of jimmy g. It's early, but CJ is looking promising in houston.

There were never going to take Fiedorowicz. I forget who, but that was reported before the draft. Reiss I think. Their meeting with him didn't go well at all.

@Ethanhamm: One name I keep hearing about at Patriots camp is Malcolm Butler. He must have at least 5 interceptions at this point.

Well people getting all excited about Connolly supplanting Wendell some bad news. Wendell returned to center with the 1st group. Connolly went to the second group (no idea if at C or RG).
http://bostonherald.com/sports/patr...observations_darrelle_revis_returns_tom_brady
Darrelle Revis again had the play of the day. The offense worked on a situation in which they were backed up against their own goal line, and Vince Wilfork pushed through the line too easily to create pressure on Tom Brady, who was standing in the end zone and quickly unloaded the pass over the middle to Kenbrell Thompkins. Revis had a beat on the pass, easily intercepted it and returned it about 10 yards for a touchdown.

Get used to it. We're going to be seeing a lot of that if Wendell is starting at center again this year. Why people actually want Wendell to start is absolutely baffling. Just absolutely B-A-F-F-L-I-N-G. I have to honestly question their sanity, eyes, or both. It's painfully obvious to anybody with even a remotely intimate knowledge of O-Line play that Wendell has been a consistent issue in pass protection since 2012. And if that isn't obvious to you, the fact that they drafted what they obviously hope to be a starter and are giving Connolly his fair share of first team reps should bare out that they're aware that he's been an issue and are doing everything they can to improve pass protection at the center position.

Another plus for Butler is he has been returning kickoffs so it's possible he could stick at least for the First 4 weeks with Browner out.

Tough crowd, jeez.

Would like to hear more about D.J Williams and Justin Jones going forward. That's a battle that hasn't been reported on as much and may really come into play if Gronk goes down(knock on wood)
What I've read and seen about Williams is he's clearly focused and tried to come in with a fresh attitude, but has been the victim of a number of good defensive plays so far. Jones, who's very intruiging in part because of his measurable's, has had one nice red zone catch and one bad drop is all I've really heard.
My bet is Jones stays until the last round of cuts, try to clear him through waivers to get him on the PS and Carolina steals him. Just a random thought.

I love all the positive talk about the defense, but I cannot get a true sense of what the real state of this team is right now. Is the defense nearly as good as advertised. Is the offense struggling a bit without Gronk and Dobson? Is the defense just lights out and offense is hard to judge because they are going against a stacked defense without two of their best weapons?

I can't wait for the intrasquad practice next week to get a better pulse on the team. Even then, we really won't know until the season starts.

All you can do is go by history. Despite all the injuries on Offense and the raw immaturity of the receiving rookie WRs, this Offense finished THIRD in the league in Scoring. All other O stats were Top 10. The O line is all back and healthy and now the new draftees will provide good depth. Only Blount is gone, but J White looks to fill a vacancy there.

This edition is arguably better and returns some of the missing stars from last season. Ergo it better than the 12-4 Offensive team of 2013.

If Boyce is injured again and missing more and more time..his ship may have sailed..i hope not

watch out what you say about Boyce or you could end up on the end of a "YOU are the vice president of the Amendola fan club and DEAD WRONG!!!! DEAD DEAD DEAD!!!" unsolicited blast.BTW, Vice President is about as high as you can get in the A.F.C. since I've been named the supreme and forever president. Watch Amendola get injured or cut...I get the boot out on the street picking through scraps while Sybil6 throws a "Boyce Is Twice As Noyce" padded cell party.

Finally a high five !

"Boyce Is Twice As Noyce"

Whether he makes the team or not, I am going to find a way to use this in a sentence at some point during the season. Consider it a challenge ;)

It's great to see all the updates from training camp! :)

I don't see how Boyce could be cut. To much raw speed/talent. Just in fear another team picks him up and he becomes a lightning quick terror from the slot. One concussion and he could end up Manning's slot or the bears inside slot with deep speed threat.

I agree Wendell can't start. He is just to weak and only good for helping out another OLineman. He can't even block average DTs man up much less Knightons. Bill must like him as a friend because I don't know a coach in the NFL that would let Wendell block for their franchise QB. If we cut him he won't even make a roster as a backup garunteed. Just like Kaczur. He will short circuit the whole offense. Conolly at guard is as terrible as Wendell at center But at center he his maybe just a touch below average but serviceable.

BTW how has Beauharnais played when he gets reps. I think he is so underrated. Redeemed his 40 time with a 4.63 40 and a 1.6 10 yard split. 6.9 3 cone and instinctive. He wasn't asked to run and cover ground at Rutgers or cover very deep. It wasn't his duty in the scheme. So scouts never saw him cover or run/hit much and couldn't say he would be good if asked. I'm not saying a pro bowler but I think he is a quick lb who can cover ground and hit and cover in zone and be very good. Would like to see him get extensive playing time.

Thanks for the heads up, it must've been a report from [two days ago] then. I am going to take Deus' approach and consider this a light day for Connolly, who has been battling something that kept him out of practice Tuesday.

Boyce is not a "talented" WR. He did practically nothing last year during camp or the regular season, and is fighting himself to try to justify keeping a 6th WR. He continues to receive 2nd/3rd team snaps at camp.

Talent does not equal measurables. Mark Harrison had the measurables of T.O and the talent of camp fodder. Stephen Houston has the measurables of AP and so far the talent of camp fodder.

Just based off college production and competition, I wouldn't be surprised if Gallon is a better WR than Boyce when he returns.

This is an excellent display of a person with good mental health.

Well aside from draw the pass interference call at the end of the Browns game in the end zone.

Week 14- 3 catches, 49 yards
Week 15- 4 catches, 42 yards

He suffered an injury in the second half of week 15 at Miami. He was showing promise in the 2 games he played when Dobson and Thompkins were injured.
