I wanna try something new this year and try and bring the best of our opponents local cuisine to each tailgate party home or away pre-season included. I would love to get some good ideas especially from those on here who are local to other markets or just do a lot of road trips. Ideally the dishes would either be something local to the opponent KC BBQ for the chiefs game or something they just do regularly in tailgates for their stadium. Or it can be something poking fun at the other team a la a Tuna dish v the Dolphins. Sides and Main Dish recomendations would be great.

Here is what I have so far.
Preseason:
At Washington - Crab
Philly - obviously Steak and Cheese
Carolina - Carolina BBQ
at NY Giants - Jewish Brisket? Manahattan clam chowder (but who wants that)

Regular Season:
At Miami - Cuban, afformentioned seared Tuna
At Minnesota - ????
Oakland - ???
At KC - Kansas City BBQ
Cincinatti - ???
At Buffalo - Buffalo Wings
N.Y. Jets - Pigs feet (kidding but you remember the Rex Ryan Foot thing) not sure what NY is good for or NJ
Chicago - Polish Suasuage..... Dikta.....Polish Suasuage
Denver - Pot Brownies and ????
Bye Week - pot Luck of a few teams cuisines we wont face.
at Indy - Some sort of beef for the mid west ????
Detroit - Again not sure ???
at Green Bay - smoked cheese spread but what else
at San Diego - Mexican
Miami - Cuban/Tuna
at Jets ????
Buffalo - More Wings

PS my buddy gave me the idea he is the best Pit Master I have ever tasted and he has just started his own catering company if anyone has intrest please go to http://www.smokeystaxbbq.com/

At Jets: Nathan's mutts...

Detroit would need to be a coney - a hot dog with a meat/chili sauce, raw onions and mustard. Conies are everywhere in Detroit, and for some reason, nobody else in the world has figured out how to make them.

I think you've got to give Pizza to NY/NJ, especially if you've tried the stuff they pass off in New England.

For Green Bay, maybe Butter Burgers.

For our tailgate, I get whatever is on sale:) Theme or not!

My cousin and I are trying to plan a regular season game outing for this year. We'd definitely be all over something like this (I'd be partial to brownies for the donks!). Last year about a dozen of us got together for tailgating before going to our separate seats for the bills game in December. I got some majors, fabbed and chopped then marinated. Picked up a pork butt and smoked the day before, swordfish steaks for the old guys...chef by trade, back to school shortly though...

For Indiana I would go with roasted corn in the husk and ribeye, or possibly bone-in pork chops. You see those at EVERY festival here. =D

Edit: I will be at the Indy game, If your going I would love to tailgate with Patriot fans!

They are called "conies" because Coney Island is where hot dogs where "invented". So the Dogs gotta go to
Jersey. But, you are absolutely right on target for real Pizza. Nobody does it better than North Jersey or NY. I hate the Jest as much as anybody, but NY is a great city.

Cincinnati is known for chili.

Pizza - NY

brats - Green Bay (no brainer)

I've lived in NYC for almost 25 years now, so here's my take.

Giants? Aside from Pizza (and I really, really, really don't want to get into the debate over Boston vs. NY Pizza), the only distinctive New York food is Deli (everything else is derivative, maybe tweaked but it all originated somewhere else). It would be a change of pace. Lost of cold food, but it's a pre-season game. Bagels and Kaiser rolls, corned beef or hot pastrami, a bunch of spreads, some smoked salmon, kosher dills, a few salads (potato, mac, tuna, egg, whitefish), cold cuts, lots of sliced swiss, good chopped liver, some good deli mustard. Accompanied by a fine Brooklyn lager. As I said, a nice change of pace, easy to do and good eating.

Jets? Cheap, watered beer served in gallon jugs along with vomit buckets near a urinal. Hell, serve it in the head right next to the damn urinal.

I think chitlins and collard greens with fried chicken would be appropriate for the Raiders game. ;)

Sweet idea...

Detroit - Kebabs, shawarma, or something of Middle Eastern origin, in honor the huge Arab community there.

I think others have got the other regions covered pretty well.

Probably nitpicking, but while Coney Island's of Detroit have the namesake, I don't think they are from NY except for the name part. I've never been to Coney Island but have spent way too much time in Detroit (born and raised in a nice suburb there)

Lived in Indy for a bit and went to the game in '07. You hit the nail on the hail, rib eyes and corn is a must!

I guess it's debatable. :) . I understand what your saying. A certain Preparation, with the Coney Island name, where hot dogs originated in the US. BTW, that sounds delicious.http://www.hot-dog.org/culture/hot-dog-history
