@RapSheet: #Colts OL Donald Thomas re-tore his quad and will need surgery, likely ending his season, per source. Another season-ended for #Colts

@RapSheet: The #Colts signed OL Donald Thomas to a 4-year, $14M contract last year. By the end of 2014, he'll have made $7M of it & played in 2 games.

Donald Thomas
Fili Moala
Vic Ballard
Robert Mathis (4 game suspension)
Lavon Brazill (1 year suspension, then released)

They were hit hard with injuries last season too. That's tough for them. Hopefully Thomas makes a full recovery. He's making out like a bandit with that contract vs. the amount of time he's played.

Call me soft, but I hate players going down with huge injuries, even if the are conference rivals.

Most people don't like seeing injuries to even conference rivals unless they're real scum bags.

You have to feel for Thomas he finally has an opportunity to start and suffers season ending injuries before the start of the regular season 2 straight years.

Ya i dont want to face berry. But sucks that hes injured. Hopefully nothing serious.

Egh, that sucks. I like Thomas a lot, he definitely deserves better.

I was surprised and a little bummed out when the Pats didn't re-sign him, considering that what he got from Colts was low/medium-level starter money. In hindsight, though, it was clearly the right move.

Chiefs have lost a safety (Commings) to a broken ankle. They've had Berry get hurt (likely sprained ankle, per reports). And now, to top it off, they've just had a projected starting CB (Cooper) carted off.

They're not having a good 24+/- hours.

Edit: first reports on Cooper are that it's a hamstring issue.

They can overcome injuries to Cooper and Commings. Berry being lost for the season or a period of months would have been a monumental disaster for them.

Colts have no depth.

I think Luck will win a SB sometime in his career. But they're probably 3-5 years off in the best case scenario. They will need to have very strong drafts the next couple years.

The Colts have two 2013 picks at C and RG, a 2014 rookie at LG, sandwiched between two average tackles at best.

At RB they have the worst RB in the league and an average vet.

At WR they have Hilton who's a beast, 35 year old Wayne, and Nicks as a shell of himself.

The defense is average that lost Bethea, Moala, and gained Jackson, Jones.

================================

The Colts just don't have the roster talent to compete with the Pats/Broncos. Luck is in for a battle with that OL/RB combo.

Yeah. It's a good thing he's mobile because, considering that OL that looks like it will be pieced together, Luck will be running for his life. If Nicks is healthy, though, that's a major, major upgrade to their receiving corps.

Gosder Cherilus at RT is one of those FA contracts that was clearly a mistake the moment it was signed.

Chiefs signed S Steve Gregory don't think it's related to Berry though

They lost Commings to a broken ankle that required surgery. That's probably when the Gregory signing was put into motion.

Tough break for Donald Thomas never want to see that, guy can't catch a break since getting signed by the Colts and they badly needed him frankly their interior line is a mess.
