For the vast majority of people, making better nutritional choices combined with eating less and exercising more should be sufficient. The sad fact of the matter is that many people are woefully uneducated on nutrition and that supermarkets are full of overprocessed junk that pumps people full of refined carbs, sugar, sodium and saturated and/or trans fats. The processed food industry has a big hand in the burgeoning epidemics of obesity and diabetes.

Doc, Maybe your current medical studies have NOT caught up with people who have challenged the
old "eat less - exercise more" to fight obesity Rx, which is backed up by solid evidence and research.

Here is a good start to get you up to speed.
11 Experts Demolish the “Calories-In-Calories-Out” (CICO) Model of Obesity" (IE: Eat Less - Exercise More)

I love this quote ( it is so true)
“A friend of mine once said “The problem with explaining complicated systems to the layman is this: it’s easy to simplify a concept to the point that that it’s no longer true.
...
The concept of the “calorie”, as applied to nutrition, is an oversimplification so extreme as to be untrue in practice"

If you search the internet for "problem with calories in calories out:
you'll get a ton more.
Wow. THAT is your 'science' WOW.

What a shame that a thread that started out congratulating the Joker on making some tough but necessary changes has turned into the usual pissing contest.

To which I add my own hot diet tip.

If it's a food or beverage advertised during NFL broadcasts, don't let it near your mouth.

OK, I was staying clear of this 'hot' topic, but here's my tip. If the Pats are in a tight game, lock the fridge. I can gain 2 lbs watching a squeaker. If it goes to overtime, lock the room. In overtime, no one can hear you scream.

Christ. Some of you seriously need to get laid.

Yo, compare the number of messages posted and tell me who needs some non-virtual action.

I wasn't talking about you and have been over this before. You're more than welcome to research messages posted by me outside of the hours of 8-5 Monday through Friday and on the weekend. :D

Besides, I have a girlfriend. Not a wife.

NP. I enjoy your posts. Keep at it. I spend way too much time lurking but it's a great pastime.
