Its funny.. you "objective critics" do as much exaggerating the position that a handful of starry-eyed hopefuls take as these guys do exaggerating their binkys future.

Shall I pull up some of the posts in the Gallon thread?

I bet he plays early in the season, this shouldn't take long to heal. Yeh it's a screw, i just had A plate 9 screws in my ankle and a cable through my tib and fib about two weeks ago and I'll be back on my dirt bike and MTB in 6 weeks. I think they will be cautious but he should be fine in another 3-6 weeks or earlier. That's my bet. Frigin sports world makes a big deal out of stuff that shouldn't, I think they are just trying to find something negative to talk about pats....

Ive got a rooting for Finch thread but 99% of everyone there even expressing some hype will acknowledge the long shot of him even making the team.

Gallon who is right up there in my personal opinion with Finch has probably the exact same ratio of true believers vs people simply expressing hopeful what-ifs.

How much do you think that willl weigh?

There were posts from people pretty clearly expecting him to contribute. Never mind the long shot of him even making the team (though the practice squad could be an option). If they were expressing that out of pure hope, it wasn't noted in their posts.

Oh, and thanks for the personal pot shot.

I missed where I took a personal pot shot at you...

I think if he wanted a receiver high, he would have taken Marqise Lee at the end of the first. Lee was a great value pick as well.

I agree with that. I was kind of hoping we would trade up in the 2nd but when it came to us there was no with value left.

You called me an objective critic and put it in quotes when I've never claimed to be either. If that's not a pot shot intended personally, then I don't know what is. Perhaps you were aiming that one at someone else?

Its just perhaps my clumsy way of describing the posters that are on the opposite side of the objective spectrum than homers.

If I had used the word homer in that first sentence Id have put that in quotes too.

But I agree, quotes are more often used to mock the thing being quoted in that way. But personal pot shot was not my intention.. I acknowledge your point and apologise for any misunderstanding.

I always wonder why they don't use bolts instead of screws for stress fractures. The success of the operation is in how well the two pieces of bone come together. A screw can only pull the bottom piece up to the top one. A bolt would apply pressure to both sides. Why not use a bolt? Maybe I just came up with a new market?? :)

I said weeks ago that this injury was a major concern and a lot of people claimed I was overreacting. I hope he doesn't end up on the PUP.

You were overreacting. I don't even know why this is a story. We know he had surgery and surgery almost always involves a screw or a pin.

I too find this a mystery, and a non story. Long ago, they said waiting will heal it if the bone position is stable. If not they will stabilize its position by surgery. How did you expect them to stabilize it. With Duct tape perhaps?

A pin generally means the injury was more severe and the surgery was more invasive. Him ending up on the PUP will be a big setback.

No it doesn't.

What does the surgery entail if it doesn't involve a screw or a pin, Doc?
