I Miss Our Dynasty Swag

One way to create swag/attitude/identity/aura whichever you prefer is to complete our OLine Dominance. Swinging a deal for a dominant guard or center would make our OLine dominant enough to punch these BadA$$ swagful/loudmouth/arrogant/intimidating defenses back in the mouth and knock them on their ***. We only need to deal for one more player for our OLine to be that bad to create an identity/attitude of its own. We just need one very good Guard or center to make our OLine that BADA$$. While it also gives Brady a clean pocket and makes his WRs better in the process. Kind of like when Dallas and Washington DC's OLine was dominant.

Another way is to get down to 2.5 % body fat while increasing lean muscle and signing with KT's agent.

You asked what the "Patriot Way" was. I gave you the answer. Simple and straight-forward with no hyperbole.

Yeah, and I stand by my original assertion when asked what it was, which is that in all actuality "The Patriot Way" is absolutely nothing.

It's some term that came up while Kraft was building his brand that eventually needed a definition, even if that definition is virtually meaningless, so Tedy said it was "doing your job" as if that's somehow unique to the Patriots.

It's also been taken by too many Patriot fans to think we're all supposed to act like battered house wives because "acting like Seattle" (which is VERY similar to the attitude of the Dynasty era Patriots besides Sherman's over the top punk bravado) is apparently against the almighty "Patriot Way."

Of course, that's a lie not even it's most vocal proponents actually believe come game time.
They just think it sounds good from their pedestals in the off season.

I propose a new Patriot Way: Lighten up.

I don't remember this because I was just a kid but, did he like make no attempt to recover the ball?

Faulk was clueless. Failed to maintain situational awareness. Gillette 2002 vs GB.

Faulk rarely if ever made mental errors afterwards.

I don't think dancing on logos contributed to winning the games either, considering they danced on San Diego's logo after they won. The difference was in the attitude of the team. They didn't care WTF anyone thought of them. They openly hated on other teams on the field. They blatantly disrespected football teams who ran their mouths or thought they were someone special.

They weren't afraid.

I swear, when we get to the play offs lately, despite having bad injuries, the Patriots don't play the same brand of football. They almost play like a team that's afraid of the legacy hit in case of a loss, who doesn't want to let it all hang out in case they lose and have to listen to someone on ESPN make them eat crow for it. The old Patriot team didn't play like that.

The Patriot offense hasn't carried itself like this, admittedly, but the defense has.

More over, everyone here claiming they `hate swag` so much are being dishonest. When Talib was running around the field disrespecting people last year, you were all LOVING IT, so get off your high horses with your fake "Patriot Fan Way."

Go watch Cricket if that's what you're looking for.

The Patriots with ATTITUDE play the best Patriot football, not the Patriots that play like they're apologizing for themselves.

Hopefully Revis and Browner rub some off on our defense and let other teams know.

Chicken and egg. Talent begets attitude. When you can't get off the field on 3rd down, hard to be badazz.

And BB doesn't have a problem with his players celebrating a good play. I believe it was in his "A Football Life" where he's talking to the team and someone made a nice tackle for a loss or a sack and nobody on the defense congratulated him. BB was asking the defense why they weren't supporting their teammate and saying something like, "you should be celebrating. You put a lot of work in to be able to make that play."

The Patriots changed after the helmet catch. The organization changed, the team changed, and the fans changed. 18-1 was a big slice of humble pie, and we've bore it for awhile. and still bear it today. We don't want to pump our chests because someone might catch a football on their helmet if we do, and then rub all kinds of salt in our wounds.

I've been optimistic about a 4th Superbowl a few seasons since, which we missed, but I didn't talk trash about it, and most other fans didn't either, and the team has certainly been the same way. We just watched quietly and prayed.

Tom once openly laughed at a reporter that said we wouldn't score 17 points in the Superbowl. I know, it's the one comment he had to pay for, and he's never done it again.

Even Belichick used to do some crypo-trashtalk, like when idiot-face from Pittsburgh guaranteed a win and he sent bombs over Baghdad in his direction all night long, then told reporters "Well, we've faced a helluva' lot better safeties than him before, that's for sure."

Honestly, I was bashing the Jets for all the trash their talking this season. Then I started watching some football stuff on youtube for the first time in awhile, as I get myself ready for football mode.

I gotta' be honest....

I miss the New England Patriots that danced on other teams logos on the 50 yard line on the way to a Superbowl win.

I miss other teams whining about how "classless" we are as we dump all over them while condescendingly telling them they should be classy like us.

There's a case to be made that this sort of thing doesn't win football games, and that it only invites enemies to pour on the heart break when it comes, but at this point in Patriot history, we get all that anyway.

I think a case can also be made that the old school Patriots trash talking ways were liberating for our football team, and that being smug, arrogant #$$&@*%'s makes the game more fun for the players, and that fun creates a better product on the football field.

I feel like maybe after so much success we got away from being that `roll into your house and stomp your face in` football team and became all about upholding legacy as a `serious` football team that's always the epitome of professional.

We used to talk trash. We used to dance on logos. We used to be... disrespectful.

And we used to win Superbowls.

Ever since we became... stuffy... we've had a lot more seasons where we started clamming up in the biggest moments. In fact, I would say some of our best post season games since 2007 have been against teams that naturally inspired that old Patriot fire to burn, like the war we had against the Ravens in the 2011 AFCCG, because we hate those bastards.

I'm sick of this post-2007, humble, by-the-book, "our opponents are great" Patriot way. It's got us exactly nothing.

I don't care what the pink hats say, with their holier-than-thou fandom `professionalism`

This season I would love to see New England return to its Dynasty swag, take no prisoners, ruffle a whole lot of feathers, and disrespect whoever the hell we want to, and let it all hang out.

Agree or disagree?

the SWAGGER is coming...and there isn't anything the league can do about it. The last time we had swagger was the last time we had a D

Patriot fans gonna be so upset though :(
Good heavens, what will the Steelers think of us?

Smartest post all day. My opinion we will have swagger to spare if a young passrusher steps up and we fix the OLine. Just takes us getting standout center or Guard to have the most feared OLine in the NFL. Which will fuel the best offense in the NFL.

If I could make a slight change to any 1 single play per season, I could give the Brady/Belichick Patriots 0 Super Bowl Championships, or I could give them 6. They are arguably a better team since 2005 than they were before, they just didn't get the 1 play they needed.

I don't see anything wrong with their competitive philosophy or that there was even some arbitrary "turning point."

TROLLTROLLTROLLTROLLTROLLTROLLTROLLTHREAD

Why is it a troll thread? Did the Patriots not celebrate on San Diego's logo? Did Rodney Harrison not used to get in other peoples faces and even right in the camera to let people know?

Did you cry when Blount did the Ray Lewis dance last year in the Ravens endzone?

Did you cry when Talib danced around after an interception to end the game last year?

Nah, you all went "ROFL!" in the game day thread, yet here you are, on your pathetic soap boxes like giant hypocrites with no credibility.
