Wonder if Revis gets Welker duty when we match up with Denver.

I'd be tempted to put him on Sanders. He's more likely to be on the outside.

Have Browner beat the snot out of D. Thomas on the line and have McCourty cover over the top, Dennard on Welker then it might be best to bracket Julius Thomas.

So Revis was covering Edelman in the slot? Interesting.

Revis will most likely get DT duty when we match up with Denver. He is their best receiver.

I tend to think Revis on DT and Browner on TE Thomas.
Arrington gets Wes and give him the help.
Ryan or Dennard get Sanders.

I think this Darryl Beavis guy is the real deal.:D

Yeah, it would be stupid to put Revis on anyone other that D Thomas. I think you put Browner on Julius Thomas. You put either Dennard or Ryan on Sanders. And I would put Collins or Arrington on Welker.

If Welker is still the same guy he was at the end of the season last year after the concussions, he isn't really all that much of a concern. He was a shell of himself. He took a step back before the concussions, but he was mediocre after.

Personally, I am surprised he didn't hang it up after last year because he clearly was effected by the concussions (and there have been rumors lingering he had already been feeling the effect of multiple concussion before this). But we see guys like him and Austin Collie refusing to hang it up no matter the long term effects may be.

You beat me to it. Arrington has had some success covering Welker. And as I said in my last post, if we see the Welker from last year's playoffs this season Arrington will have little problem covering him on his own.

Yes can't wait to see the Denver game. The pats will finally have all the weapons they need to cover a teams wrs like the Broncos

The only thing I'm worried about is will Ryan and Dennard have the speed to keep up. All I remember is the Steelers game where Dennard got burned by shifty burners like Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders.

Put Revis on Sanders I think, and let our line backers crush Welker. Oh, and Browner can put a mean hat on him again

Browner is the type of corner that is awesome against bigger receivers that aren't as shifty. He can disrupt their route and keep up with them. He is not very good against guys like Edelman or Welker as they are way to shifty for him.

It sounds exactly like Talib!

I was at camp today also. Revis was the star of the show. Edelman seemed to catch everything that came his way. Amendola had the catch of the day. A one handed grab that got the applause from us all behind the end zone.

Not really. Talib is much more agile than Browner. Browner is really tall. But he also plays very tall. Not good at turning quickly and not good at breaking down for a tackle. Talib is better at shifting his hips and playing low.

We have 2 roster spots open, who will they sign?

I'm talking about both guys struggling with shorter, shiftier receivers.

We won't really need him to cover Welker, as Arrington usually does a very good job on him. If Arrington struggles, however, then maybe this is something BB will choose to employ. The true beauty of Revis is he has the quickness to cover smaller, shiftier receivers. But he also has the strength to cover the bigger, stronger guys like Megatron, Dez, and Demaryius Thomas. Having him on the team means BB has the flexibility of dictating matchups on D. It will be more difficult for opposing teams to create matchup problems, especially when we have guys in the secondary that all possess different/unique skill sets and/or body types.

The versatility of this defense is something that I think is being somewhat underrated at this point, though it's obviously extremely early and we haven't seen everyone on the field yet. However, we have guys at all three levels of D who have unique abilities and builds. To those who haven't seen Easley yet, the kid knows how to wreck a pocket. Collins is one of the most athletically gifted guys on the roster. And the secondary will shine. Barring injury, there is no doubt in my mind that this team should be closer to the top than the bottom of overall defense.

This is how I would play it if I were coaching. I even think that Browner, at times, could matchup on DT just to give them a different look. Revis is strong enough to defend JT. Ryan and/or Dennard would still need help over the top with Sanders because they lack some speed to keep up with him. Dennard would beat him up real nice at the line, though.

Please I want to see this again!

I'm not going to say too much about what I saw today. Azores and SBB already did a good enough job.

One particular play I witnessed pretty close up was Edelman streaking down the sideline, Revis beaten, Brady throws a perfect spiral set to hit Edelman in stride and...Revis...I mean you have to SEE him to believe it. He has that "it" thing, that ability to KNOW when to look back for the ball with a split second to spare and then MAKE the INT...not flub it, not drop it off his hands, not bat it down...MAKE the INT. He is really the best player on defense.

I know the moronic knower brigade who know everything about everything and vomit their streams of stats and the rest of their egotistical garbage every day, without ever ACTUALLY SEEING a practice or a real play...I know they will blame somebody for something ridiculous and then go off on this new Patsfans.com exercise of finding fault with Brady's throwing or Edelman's route running or whatever pure geekaloid garbage they want to use to pump up their "knower" status here but the TRUTH is GREAT PLAYERS MAKE GREAT PLAYS. Revis is one of the truly great players in this league. He picked two passes off today and knocked at least one other away all the while as Brady had a very good practice throwing strikes all over the field. Anybody who was THERE will back me up on this...Tom looks at the top of his game. Edelman, Amendola, and KT look sharp and the offense looks pretty crisp considering it's the first practice with pads.

Oh yeah, Connolly is taking all the reps at center...I was talking with Sarge and a few of the other old war horse Pats fans and our consensus is Wendell is a goner. Too soon to really say one way or the other but off today, I'd say it doesn't look too bright for Wendy.

I was there today as well. Boyce had a good practice. Ryan looked good as well. Did you notice Tavon working with the 1s?
