In the Snapshots section from ESPN, it looks like Garoppolo was coming over the top with his delivery.. This will be good since one of the "knocks" was that he had more of a 3/4 delivery that could have issues of getting knocked down.. Hope that is the case.

Unfortunately for you, you are talking out your rear end... 7 on 7 drills are just as important as 11 on 11. You have no idea whether the receivers were in the right place or if it was truly Mallet's fault.
Do yourself and everyone else a favor and go buy some perspective since it is the 1st day of camp.

The name Zach Sudfeld ring any bells for you?

BTW, I think it's hilarious that you "DISLIKE" a post that had facts in it that detract from your opinion..

Padded practice is the REAL start of camp.

Reading anything into what went on today is futile.It's all about getting into the rhythm of camp, familiarizing, play repetitions and techniques.

I am of the opinion that the team versus team practices and the first 2 preseason games will provide plenty of evaluation fodder for the stat starved.

Read a note somewhere that he had a nice shimmy move to beat Anderson for a TD catch, but that it was really the only play of his that popped today. Still, better to only be seen with one positive than seen multiple times for negatives.

"Tight end Justin Jones showed some nice shimmy to break free from the coverage of linebacker James Anderson in the end zone, making a grab for a touchdown in 7-on-7 work. This was the first time Jones made a play that popped off the field."

On a related note in the same article:

"The Patriots spent a lot of time in offensive formations that included three wide receivers. In the past, the two-tight end offense has been the preference, but the precedent could be changing in New England with an abundance of wide receivers that have different skill sets."

By keeping him, I think they're signaling that they're not comfortable with a rookie backup QB and are going to carry three this year. That's where I'm hoping he makes even the smallest impact. Guys his size have to be accounted for down there. He's simply too slow to make much of an impact elsewhere on offense but he should see some snaps in the red zone if he even makes the roster.
