Tanguay: Brady has no chance at a Super Bowl without Revis

jetsjets disliked a quote from Patjew. You are now officially ostracized. Banishment is imminent.

The little bloated man with a big voice said Brady needs Revis? To quote the little bloated man when his blood pressure is spiking, "You're a moron!"

Revis has been to how many Super Bowls? Crickets.
Tom Brady has been to five Super Bowls. My guess is that it's Revis who needs Brady (and Belichick.)

Tanguay. Yeesh!

can you imagine if it was peyton that been to five sb? they would never say he lost two they would say his defense lost them... i hate the double standard.

"Tanguay Island". Really?

i know this isnt a manning vs brady thread but i never hear him get bashed so here is some interesting stats

no one needs anyone in the NFL; a team doesn't need Brady or Bill to win the SB -- it's happened 10 times in a row now without them.

But Revis does HELP a lot to get us there -- to the tune of Bill deciding to pay him 12m -- or more than 2x what we were willing to pay Welker.

Honestly, why would you start a thread based on anything Gary Tanguay said or did? He exemplifies the "look at me" media with his ridiculous, loosely based on fact accusations and assumptions. Gary Tanguay is the worst of the worst in Boston Sports Media. Get him gone...

Yep, he gave me about 12 of them last time he stopped in, i thought he had been banned but apparently not.
He is now.

Hey now, worst of the worst in Boston sports media is a hell of a hill to climb, when you've got Tony Maz, Shaughnessy, Borges, The Fat Turd (tomase), Kirk Minihane, Ben Volin, Denis and Callahan, Adam Jones and so many, many more!

Tanguay is one of the dumbest guys on the planet but worst of the worst is a pretty stern challenge.

So you guys don't think Tanguay even has a little bit of a point?

I think he would have had more of a point if he had said that Brady has no chance at another Super Bowl victory without a solid defense. That much is true. But Brady won three without Revis and went to two more (both of which the Pats were within an ******* hair of winning) before he even came here.

Oh okay then, yeah, I agree. One player wouldn't even make much of a difference anyway.

I think saying we have no chance is a little overkill. It would definitely be harder without Revis but I don't think it's impossible.

It's a challenge Gary is more than up to...

Definitely agree that it's overkill, especially when you consider the fact that we had a late 4th quarter lead in the last SB loss to the NYG with a patchwork secondary made up of glue and rubberbands.

Revis (and an overall improved defense) will obviously raise our chances, but no--I don't agree that he is the end all/be all player that we can't survive without either. After all, they've been pretty close in the past 3 years without him.

That all said, we're all hoping that they can reach a longer term agreement with him just the same. It would solidify the back end of the defense for the next couple/few years to come.

Well...I watched his show tonight and I guess I have to give it to him. He's moved on to the 'BB just said this to put all the pressure on Gronk' line.

If you watched his show, I've got to give it to you. Kudos.
