I have Connolly making the roster over Wendell. Other than that, I see nothing wrong here.

You dont have my binkies Finch or Gallon making the team.. you're dead to me! Dead I say! ;)

Yeah its a toss up between them. Connolly could make it over Wendell because he's shown versatility (C and G)...

Both are on the bubble big time though with their deteriorating play and bigger contracts

I LOVE Gallon, but I just don't see space for him on the roster. If Dobson's foot cant get better and he's PUP'ed for 6 weeks there could be a door there... I just don't see the space. I love him though. Who knows, he may totally kill it in TC and make the team over any WR.

Also, I don't see BB walking from Rid, Vereen or Bolden. He could've cut Bolden a long time ago but hasn't. I think he likes all the RBs he has, but like I said before, any roster spot can be won by killing it in TC and Preseason.

Gallon and Finch both start camp on PUP/NFI, they could be redshirt candidates.

Haven't you already been proven enough times that there are no such thing as a pup/ir redshirt year. Players on pup/ir can't practice during that time, which means they don't improve much at all which likely means they are released the next year.

Connolly's main problem, besides being an average lineman, is his contract. The Pats pick up $3 million against the cap when he gets cut. He won't last long as a free agent since he's a decent player with versatility. A team in need will scoop him up, and the big guys get hurt in camp fairly frequently. My guess is he's an early cut.

Players who have injuries entering camp spend their first season on PUP/NFI all the time.

Yes they do but as posted here previously the % of them that make the next year's team are horrifically low. No chance to improve and the grass is greener with the next season's newbies.

Yeah, and they rarely make the team the next year. I can't see why this "red shirt year" would be any good for them. They miss camp and they miss all the practises during the year. A player missing his first year for PUP/NFI/IR is not very likely to make it the next year. There is no redshirt year to let them get better on any of those lists. There is basically only disadvantages for the players and the team of having a first year player on any of those 3 lists.

I just said they are red shirt candidates, I never said it was a good thing.

But you keep saying it like redshirt is a thing in the NFL. Yes in college you can redshirt a player so they can practise and all that. Just not play games. In the NFL they can't practise if they are on PUP/NFI/IR. Shouldn't call any of those lists redshirt years. PUP/NFI/IR is not a way to let players develop. It's because they can't practise.

OK I will not call it that going forward.

Wasnt Nate Ebner one of our better special teams players last year?
