It's a slow news time, so I figured this might kill a bit of it:

The Chargers haven’t opened up training camp yet, but they’ve already decided that linebacker Larry English won’t be a member of their 53-man roster.

The team announced Tuesday that they have released English.

If Joel Dreesen thought tight end pay was unfairly low before, he’s in for a shock this summer, with no pay whatsoever.

The Broncos announced they had released the veteran tight end with a failed physical designation Tuesday.

Have it it...

Dreeson, yes. English, no. As someone that really didn't like English prior to that draft, I feel a sense of vindication that he hasn't panned out. I would bring Dreeson in in spite of the failed physical because he plays TE. Hell, I would bring the corpse of Dennis Hopper in to try out at TE too.

I would definitely bring Dreessen in for a look. Right now, our only pre-req for bringing a TE in for a workout should be a pulse.

Dreessen was pretty good in 2012 for Peyton. Sure, I'd be curious to see what he can do with an even better QB.

I was a litle disappointed that Collie didnt (or has yet to) stick.

Between him (with more playing time with Tom) and Welker I was looking forward to some future candid comparisons from those two about which qb does just what better or worse.

No point in wasting time on a guy who can't pass a physical

Treating this as an NFL News thread:

@AdamSchefter: Chargers announced new two-year extension for RB Danny Woodhead.

Could prove to be a baseline for a
Vereen extension.

Interesting signing today, with the Falcons getting Pat Angerer. He'd have been one to bring in for a look.

I think that Austin Collie is pretty much on our shadow roster at this point in time. While I agree with you that he definitely served a nice purpose due to his experience and work ethic, I think there may be some redundancy in his skill set with others at the moment.

I would assume that if we see an injury or two in the WR corps, Collie could be called up. While he has his issues with the concussion history, he also proved to be a hard worker and a solid pickup at times here last season.

Yeah, it seems like we'll have to trust in Belichick in terms of the TE depth this season. We all want it addressed, but the only viable candidates seem to all have injury concerns at this point in time.

Wait a minute!!! Dennis Hopper died??

I was never an English fan and thought he was ridiculously over-drafted at #16 in 2009. With that said, I have no objection to taking a look.

Dennis Hopper's body was my motivation for getting surgery.
Loved him in "True Romance"

I think he's a true bust, I wouldn't waste much time on him.

Same here. He knew he was going out and decided to talk some **** before he did.

If Dreesen is healthy, he's definitely worth a look. I think he'd been a good compliment to Gronk..

Dreesen is not healthy why would they bring a guy into camp who cant practice?

I can't believe the Cowboys weren't all over Pat Angerer.
