Perhaps, because he was such a disappointment...

Eugene Chung... that name never fit.

Other names that come to mind: Lovett Purnell, Vagas Furgeson, Pio Sagapoltele, Tom Beer, **** Conn, Prentice McCray

My clans crest is bizzare as well. A pissed off arm with a sword coming out of the head. I guess that means we're all f**kin crazy but love leafy things as well. Irish. Do we really need to explain ourselves?

Yes. Yes you do.

The best name: Thomas Edward Patrick Brady

The worst: tie between Glas-IR Dowling and Tavon The Error-Repeater Wilson

Maugaula Tuitele. He had the record for most on and off the roster moves back then (2002). Backup linebacker on a team that didn't need any. He definitely had a nickname, but I can't remember it. Announcers didn't want to attempt the actual name.

Delvic Dyvon "Dino" Philyaw. Nice tongue twister, that.

An offensive lineman with the name 'Max Lane' is so great until you realize it's not that he's opening up running and passing lanes he's allowing Reggie White a max pass rushing lane.

Wow, I had completely forgotten about him - the original Ventrone. I was thinking Tony Gaiter or Bam Childress as the first Ventrone, but Tuitele was involved in far more signings and cuts than either of those two.

'Ula' was his nickname, perhaps created by some frustrated announcer that stumbled once too often over 'Mah-ga-oo-la Too-it-elly'; as a kid he was known as 'Maggy', but that probably wouldn't go over too well in the NFL. He played in one game in 2000, one in 2001, and three in 2002 for the Pats; his prospects of making the roster each season were apparently so slim that he had a different uniform number each year.

Wow, I didn't know that resource was available. He and chatham were the Maytag repairmen of linebackers with the great LBs of that era giving no playing time to anyone (except coverage specialist Davis). I see a similar situation this year if health, position fit and potential work out for mayo, High T and Collins, with James Anderson in the Don Davis role.

You go Ula! 11 tackle game. Never knew that.

Horace Ivory - The man , the myth , the legend.

Sorry if he listed already, too lazy to scroll through the 3 pages. ;-)

Vegas Ferguson and Vincent 'ultimate' Brisby are a couple more. For all you youngens - they were all solid players.

Smiley Creswell cool name, but he sucked.

Rock on Pats fans ! Counting the days to TC

I know this thread is about Pats players but has there ever been a worse sports name than **** Buttkiss (sp? I know). Maybe if Rusty Kuntz was a woman. Maybe.
