Good luck in all your endeavors, Armond..

When I heard it was "clotting issues," I figured it was over.

Too bad, especially for him. I hope he finds a lot of happiness in his next endeavors, but yeah, if you've got those kind of problems, the NFL isn't for you.

Best of luck, Armond Armstead!

That sucks. All the best to him.

Very sorry for Armond Armstead but very happy that his spirit and positive attitude have been recognized and acknowledged by his coach. I wish him every success in whatever he does.

I just want him to live every day happy and healthy. Good luck, Armond!

His health is clearly the overriding issue.

Wishes for a happy and healthy like for Armond.

Tragic for this to happen to a young person.

No surprise. Health over football always

That's a real shame for him, but hopefully he's doing this to be proactive and help ensure that he can live a long and healthy life.

That's too bad. I watched a bit of him in college and thought he had potential. Life is more important than any spot. Best of luck to him in the future.

Not disappointed because I never let my hopes get up. I'm mostly sad for a guy who probably feels absolutely gutted right now having to give up on the NFL dream.

I hope Armstead can live a healthy and prosperous life. I feel for the kid he has dealt with this adversity since his teens.

Clotting issues? Not good at all.

I got a really nasty bruise, was told by my doctor I really shouldn't fly with it for fear of stroke, and then realized that football players fly home from games with huge bruises all the time.

My wife wasn't impressed -- "Yeah, but think of what their brains are like" -- and insisted I cancel my next business trip anyway. Ironically, I got it in Istanbul and flew home with it before ever seeing a doctor, and I'm alive to post this vaguely relevant anecdote ...

:/ It's what's best yet it's very depressing knowing the potential he had.. wish him the best.

I really really feel for this guy. He really seems like he's a stand-up person and to be so close to achieving the kind of dream that kids across America dream and have to give it up can't be easy. I wish him the very best and good health.

I remember when he signed and members here posted youtube videos. I must admit that I was excited. Hope he does well in whatever new career he finds.

Hope BB's prophecy for him comes true...
