France going out with a whimper and seem to have surrendered early.....not much has changed in 75 years!

That's the sense I got. Also felt that Germany played with a lot of poise and confidence. Didn't waver once.

I have to say they're the favorite now, even over Brazil.

How sad. A game full of trips, tugs and body checks that would do credit to the Bruins. Brazil? The beautiful game? *sigh*

This is why soccer will not succeed in America: Brazil gets a goal about 8 minutes in, and the rest of the game is garbage time. The game was pretty much over at that point. May as well have gone home.

Did Silva commit the dumbest foul of the entire tournament? He's the freaking captain of the team and just disqualified himself from the Germany game with a completely unnecessary move.

That may not have been their best performance of the tournament, but in many ways it was their most impressive. They dealt with an extremely potent French midfield and forward line quite easily. They answered a lot of questions, at least defensively.

They looked like potential winners for the first time since the Portugal game.

They've reached the semifinals of every tournament they've participated in since 2006. I think its their year. Not only that, but if you look at their roster, from top to bottom they are just the deepest team. They are great in all phases of the game.

The most complete team in the world by far.

He should have gotten the red right then and there. It was the perfect combination of dangerous and unsportsmanlike. Very dirty.

It should have at least been 15 yards for roughing the punter. :D

Neymar is out with a fracture in a vertebra.

Poor guy, gets kneed in the back!

Can't imagine many tears in Bavaria from that news. That's pretty much 2 of Brazil's best out of action for the semi's.

Huge loss to Brazil and the World Cup, hope his surgery and recovery go well, he's one of the game'ss brightest stars.

Part of me is glad Brazil suffered some Karma after watching them trying to kick James Rodriguez out of the game. As for Scolari's cheek to claim they've not been protected.....doofus. Shame to see Neymar out though, he's been exceptional and was last night again.

Crazy last 10 minutes in the Holland v Costa Rica game, the Dutch have hammered at the door but can't break it down. Hopefully Costa Rica upset the apple-cart.

Dutch advance.

Holland-Argentina is gonna be a great game.

I have no words to describe that.

We love you Costa Rica.

If one could not enjoy that Brazil/Colombia game, then they will never enjoy futbol. That game was wide open and entertaining as hell.
