Can we sign Ike Taylor as vet db?

Why? He's awful.

Not to mention he's a Pittsburgh player

We have arguably the best DBs in the NFL right now..i think we will be just fine

The hell are you talking about?

After all the interceptions he had in 2013 I think we would be stupid not to sign him immediately.

2013 Interceptions – 0

Plus he is still on the Steelers so he will be hard to sign.

I'd rather see us sign Jimmy Graham away from NO.

Ah, the off season void before camp opens is upon us

I think we should wait a few days to see if we have to pay him like a WR or a TE first, though.

Understanding that these comments are in jest, it will be interesting to see which way that situation turns.

Personally, I have a feeling that it may lean towards setting a new precedent for now and the future, where he'll be labeled as a "WR" for the sake of salary cap purposes. We'll have to see.

He's a TE!

I understand the Saints split him out wide a lot, but a lot of that has to do with the fact Graham such a piss poor blocker. He made the Pro Bowl and All Pro teams has a TE, therefore that's his position.

However, I do agree with that fact, that guys like Graham, and of course when healthy Gronk should be paid like top tier elite WR. They are such a mismatch.

We'll know soon enough, but I could definitely see a new precedent being set for these matters in the future by the ruling that may come on Thursday.

While your points are noted, he makes a pretty good case himself by the fact that he was split out wide almost 70% of the time.

I agree with you that he shouldn't be labeled as anything but a TE, but I'm not 100% convinced that's how it will go down. It'll be interesting to see which way it goes.

What the chances they meet halfway? If the franchise number for TE is let's say $6M, and for WR is $10M, why not meet at $8M?

Many had assumed that the team and player would meet in the middle on a new pact, much like Suggs and the Ravens did when this came up a couple/few yrs ago with the DE/OLB designation. Unfortunately for those involved in N.Orleans, this hasn't happened yet, and they are waiting on the arbitrator's ruling.

I doubt that the arbitrator would meet halfway, if that's what you're insinuating--since the question is more of the specific position and there is no leeway there. It may be possible that the player and team can end up meeting halfway on a new contract extension prior to the ruling, though.

Ike Turner is currently a more viable choice than Ike Taylor.

I bet he'd be pretty decent in press coverage. Once he gets his hands on you, he's locked in. There is no escape.

Judging from the reports, he knows how to hit.

First things first, see if the judge dismisses the charges against Hernandez, that would address the number two TE, unless he demands to paid like a wide receiver.

If the NFL comes up with a franchise tag for serial killers he is definitely going to be the benchmark.
