@RapSheet: #Bills announce that LB Kiko Alonso, while working out at Oregon, suffered a knee injury that “may be significant,” based on early tests

@RapSheet: The fear is that #Bills LB Kiko Alonso has suffered a torn ACL, per source. Tests to confirm soon.

Now that's bad luck. He was a stud last season and was poised for an All-Pro type year.

This guy is a beast... feel real bad for him. It's most assuredly a torn ACL

Looks that way:

@AdamSchefter: Bills LB Kiko Alonso tore his ACL and is expected to miss season, per source. It’s considered a seven- to nine-month recovery. Blow for BUF.

I'm sure Spikes will do just fine picking up the slack ;)

Welcome to Buffalo, Brandon :p

Terrible news if true. Alonso looked like a young Sean Lee last year - unfortunately that comparison may be playing out a little too literally.

damn that sucks for the bills. Hope he recovers quickly and is able to get back to 100%

Boy that sucks for him and Buffalo. He was real good last year. Wonder if they'll make a move or let Spikes get more time on defense.

That really sucks for Kiko.

He was certainly looking to be like one of the more promising young LBs in the game. Best wishes for him to heal quickly.

I have a theory that this rash of ACL injuries in the offseason are occurring because players are too loose (more at ease both mentally and physically). I tore my acl when I was mentally and physically relaxed in an effort to not overdue it during an intramural basketball game. If you ask most professionals, the moment you start playing to not get injured is when you get injured. During these OTA's and with the emphasis on player safety, players are probably trying to go through the motions as best as possible without risking injury. Pair that with an emphasis on efficiency during these OTA's because of the limitations from a coaching point of view you're looking at a recipe for guys to get hurt.

I definitely feel sorry for Alonso. OTOH, unlike, say, the JEST, I actually do feel sorry for the Bills.

You may be onto something. I don't know how much this will change your POV, but Alonzo actually got hurt on his own while training out in Oregon.

All I remember about Kiko is him getting manhandled against the run against us. Great athlete in space but against the run I don't know.

Climb a giant mountain? no problem, maybe just a little sore the next day,

Try and swing a pool noodle like a bow staff? cramped arm so bad It was "stranger in the bathtub" time for a couple of days.

Fun player to watch, even if he is a pain in the ass to play against. Hoping for a speedy recovery for Mr. Alonso. Other than that...

Oh well.
