I do not think there has been a season that I have been more excited for than this one. Maybe it is that this will be my second season using this forum as fan, and I feel I know much more about football thanks to all of you, even though I do not always seem receptive. Or maybe it the fact we have so many amazing players whom signed as free agents, were drafted, are returning from injury, or entering their second season. That begs the question who are you most excited for? Personally, it is Jamie Collins; I cannot remember a player I have been more intrigued by.

Hard to limit it to just 1. My top 3:

1. How Darrelle Revis will impact the overall defense.
2. Jamie Collins taking the 2nd year leap and becoming an impact player who can create mismatches all over the field.
3. Dominique Easley, and the potential for serious interior pressure.

The combination of those 3, if all work out, would be incredibly exciting.

Danny Amendola ;) [ducks]

Actually, that's not (just) a joke. If "excited" means "really hoping that he can match what I think of as his potential ceiling" then, yes, he's one (of several).

Its James White for me. I like his skillset and I see him getting quite a good amount of runs throughout the season.

Though not in my top 3 (see above), I am also excited by the prospect of White and Vereen being used together.

There are many players that would qualify for 2-5 but not sure how anyone wouldnt have Revis on the top of this list? Well maybe Brady as its always exciting to watch him but thats to easy a choice.
One of the best players to ever play his position in th history of the game will be manning our defensive backfield!

2-5 for me is probably Browner, Collins, Easily and the possibilty of a full year from Gronk.

Darrelle freaking Revis. Also, Collins, Dobson, and Easley.

One that makes go ahead TD to win Superbowl.
Like to see our DEF with Revis and especially when Browner comes back how it all plays out.

Here's my top 10:

1. Revis
2. Browner
3. Easley
4. Buchanan
5. Stork
6. Gronk
7. Whomever wins the RG job
8. Dobson
9. Collins
10. Wilfork

Revis for just how he'll impact the defense, both scheme wise and blitz-wise. I'm interested to see how much Cover-1 the team will play and if we see the return of the overload blitz for the first time since '06 (that I can remember). Browner because it would be refreshing to have a presence in the backfield that can decapitate someone. Easley to see how much B gap pressure he can generate as interior pass rush was something we've been badly missing for a few years. Buchanan to see if he learned from his mistakes and can become someone that Belichick has confidence subbing with Nink and Jones. Stork because I'm assuming he's going to win the center job and should be an immediate improvement.

I'm looking forward to seeing Gronk because I want to see if he can be one of those guys that just returns to his dominant self one year post-ACL or if he needs a full season to recover like most. Looking forward to seeing one of Cannon or Connolly, whomever wins the RG job, to see if pass protection improves there in conjunction with the assumed improvement at center. Dobson, because I think he's going to make the second year leap. Collins for the same reason as Dobson. And Wilfork because I'm interested in seeing if he returns to being the Big Vince we all know and love.

Sorry... couldn't narrow it down to just one.

1. Stork
2. Halapio
3. Fleming

I'm so excited to see how good our power run game is. Realistically, not all 3 will start but I'm sure they'll all be on the field together on rotation at some point.

For a top 10, I think I'd go with this:

1. Revis - want to see Revis island
2. Gronk - want to see if he can get back to 2011/2012 form
3. Collins - want to see him make the leap
4. Dobson - want to see him make the leap
5. Hightower - want to see him play up to his abilities now that Spikes isn't forcing him out of position
6. Easley - want to see some interior pressure
7. Wilfork - want to see him taking up two blockers
8. Vereen - want to see him stay healthy and create another matchup nightmare
9. Browner - want to see him in press coverage
10. Stork/Halapio - want to see one or both of them starting from day one

There's a ton of other guys that I'm really intrigued to see what happens: maybe it's not totally fair, but Brady, Jones, McCourty and Mayo aren't making my list mostly because I feel confident that we know what we're getting from them. Excitement, for me, is at least ATM coming from guys who we don't know what they'll offer, but we know that it *could* be big.

Re: Brady, I'm of the mindset that, like last year, he'll be great if his weapons are even competent, and if they suck then he'll what he can but it won't be good enough for the fans/media. We'll see, but if either one of Gronk/Dobson have strong years, then I have no concerns at all about him.

Jamie. Collins.

I would kill for him to turn into the next Lavonte David.

What gives me wet dreams:

Revis/Browner making the QB's hold on to the ball longer
Collins/Hightower blitzing
Healthy veteran DT's with Easley being a terror on passing downs
Jones on the edge

I would cry tears of ecstasy if they ever had a D where just an average offense would be good enough. I think I trust Brady, no matter who is healthy, to give us a better than average offense.

Agreed with all of you, so I am going outside the box and going with Harmon. Is he going to be that hard hitting safety the D has lack for sometime. As of now if he is the starter by default would be the weak link in the chain and how weak of a link is he. Has he taken a big leap in his second year.

Tough. Easley, Collins and Revis are all exciting on defense to see what they will be able to do.

On offense I'm still hoping Boyce becomes a serious dude for us.

Hard to say and depends on what context.

Big time impact - Revis. I think he transforms our D.

Young player stepping up - Dobson. If he makes the jump i think he can he will help our O out.

Rookie Stepping up - Easley duh.

Vet stepping up - Vollmer. He is lost in the shuffle but he is all-pro level if healthy and having him as a solid bookend with Solder would let us cheat in the middle some.

Probably Easley because he is the biggest unknown (not including other players being "unknowns" due to injury status). I am very excited to see what he can do and his impact.
