The Bite n' Dive
Sad day for world soccer ...
e6v2dl.gif

And that is a perfect example of why this will never be the dominant sport in the United States and why it's popularity will die down after the World Cup.

Does john henry really pay this guy's salary?

I can understand disliking Italy (I L-O-V-E Italy and Italians -- pretty much all of it except Italian football) but disliking them more than Uruguay? Come on, that's extreme.

EDIT: Sounds like I picked a good day to have to work during the WC. :)

And that was BEFORE the Suarez bite. I get it -- Liverpool love but c'mon man. This guy should be in jail, not on a soccer field ever again.

One of the reasons I really want the U.S. to succeed. They play it fair-and-square. As do the Germans, the Ghanaians, the Koreans and many other teams. But there are those that don't -- and their associations tend to be hand-in-glove with the monstrous Sepp Blatter. There are great things in football and at this World Cup, but you'd be lying to say that there weren't terrible things too -- and they do go very deep.

Was watching the game with a novice soccer fans and at about 70th minute I said watch Suarez is going to do something stupid within the next 15 minutes.

Didn't think he was going to bite someone again. But you know the saying "A leopard can't change its spots"

How can a player bite other players, get away with it, and his team wins because the 3 blind mice, I mean the referees, do nothing about it?

BECAUSE FUTBOL!!

I'm not a big soccer fan but usually i follows the World Cup: so what ? Italy has disappointed me tonight ... not that I had high expectations ... a fact: favourite teams , on the paper, (Italy and England are out) and the weaker, on the paper, (Costarica and Uruguay are in)

they playied better...simple and true...

Italy playied only one good game and in the World Cup this is not enough

we deserve to go home

A ridiculously high salary too. Probably somewhere around $300,000 a week.

Biting for the 3rd time in his career, you could really make a strong case to give him a life time global ban.

FWIW, despite the fact he didn't get a red card, he still faces a ban from FIFA. And given that it's his third strike I'm all for a lifetime ban.

Suarez is history. He will be banned for the rest of the tournament and probably from any FIFA related games. He will probably still play in UCL and EPL (or La Liga if he transfers) since those are UEFA and English FA jurisdictions and usually any FIFA related disciplinary decisions don't carry over and vice versa.
Good riddance, though.

4th strike if you include the racism to Evra

That hand ball in 2010 to stop Ghana scoring the winning goal too. Cynical, but something every player should do in the same situation really.

Prandelli is a good coach. Italy could do a lot worst than him. He wont be without a job for long.

Huff post headline.

Chewy Luis and the blues.

He truly is a vile human being.

The Italian team was diving around, Uruguanians were biting people, and they wonder why soccer isn't popular here.

What's wrong with biting?

The diving is absolutely ridiculous in this sport and makes the soccer player doing it look like a gigantic ****y.

NBA players could give soccer players a lesson or 2 in diving and flopping. And so could the Montreal Canadiens. There is biting and a lot worst done at the bottom of an NFL pile. All 3 sports are doing just fine.
