Hernandez wrongful death suit targets New England Patriots

This is one suit against the Pats, actually moreso against the NFLPA, that I hope wins. This dirtbags money should go to the families of the victim. At the very least, they should be entitled to half his money if found guilty.

If he's found in breach of his contract, it isn't Hernandez's money.

Hernandez isn't going to have any money to go after when he is done defending two separate murder cases. It is standard operating procedure for a plantiff to go after people/companies with money that might have a chance of not getting the case against them thrown out on summary judgement and hope for a settlement. This isn't really that surprising. Kraft has the deepest pockets.

Especially if he decides to go with some type of mental or brain related defense, the experts will be millions.

The reality is Hernandez will probably be broke by the end of the Lloyd trial and not have nearly the resources for the double homicide case.

PFT already said a few weeks ago that he is having trouble paying his lawyers. The Pats aren't going to pay him and he can't sell his house because it's part of the investigation so he basically running out of cash.

The article headline is extremely misleading, so much so that IMHO it borders on journalistic negligence. The Patriots are not being sued, no one is saying the Patriots have any culpability or they themselves will face a civil lawsuit. It's just a matter of lawyers trying to freeze Hernandez's assets at the source.

Believe me, the plaintiffs in the upcoming civil suit want the Patriots to pay Hernandez that $3 million - when the time is right - so they can get it and not him. The Patriots obviously do not want to have to pay that money but if they lose their NFLPA appeal, I doubt they care where the money goes. (In fact they would probably prefer not giving it to Hernandez)

any money blood suckered out of this should go to his CHILD.

Very true, Joker. His daughter is already going to have to grow up without her father, but that's unfortunately the case for many.

On the other hand, the families of the victims are probably far ahead of that on a priority scale.

It really makes you realize how many "victims" there really are when all is said and done. His daughter is definitely one of them.

"Follow the money." That's all they're doing. Perfectly reasonable.
They want to be sure that not a dime of money that might or might not be due to Hernandez ends up helping him or in his pockets. It would be legal malpractice for the victims' attorneys not to have filed this suit, whatever its outcome.

Why did Hernandez get sent to the hospital?

they should really target the rental company that rented the car used in the double murder.

of the rental company paid better attention to their books, and saw hernandez hadn't returned it, lloyd probably nevers gets taken out.

but then again, if Lloyd hadn't been trying to be a gangsta and had actually been like "yes hello boston police, listen, this guy im hanging out with.. he sort of.. well he said he shot a couple of dudes last year outside a night club.." he'd probably still be alive.

when it comes to wannabe gangsters killing wannabe gangsters, nobody deserves to get paid anything because of a wrongful death.

It was an older, used SUV from a dealership that they agreed to lend him in exchange for some public appearances, so there wasn't really any "rental company" per se. The rental cars came more into play in the Llyod shooting, which as we know happened a year later.

I understand what you're trying to say with your opinion in the last sentence, but the bottom line is that no one deserves to be murdered. The first 2 victims in the double murder weren't wanna-be gangsters anyway, and even the minor drug dealing rumors from Odin Llyod are just speculation at this point. Even if that's true, it's certainly nothing close to justification for taking someone's life.

It seems to me that the only thug in the whole scenario was Aaron Hernandez, and yes---the victims' families definitely deserve to be compensated; especially from a multimillionaire NFL player.

Why did Hernandez get sent to the hospital?

I don't think it has leaked its way out yet, so no one seems to know at this point. We may not find out due to privacy laws, etc.

Why did Hernandez get sent to the hospital?
I'm sure some idiot will leak it. But this is why HIPAA laws are in place. Nobody needs to know a persons personal health info.

Don't kid yourself. HIPAA laws are in place so that the government can more easily access your files.

God forbid if the hospitals could more easily access our files..

Because none of us have ever been to the Hospital and thought to ourselves as we answered the same question for the hundredth time: Don't you have this written down somewhere?
