Not like this sort if thing hasn't happened with the Patriots before, though. 2012 anybody? It's the dog days of summer. Scraps happen.

As a follow up, I bet it felt real good to punch Sherman's face though.

I thought the madden curse waiting until the season started and not during OTAs.

You don't get as good as he is without being ultra competitive and aggressive!

Frustration right there. Bates is trying to show something to make a team and he is held from the get go. No chance to make a move and he Probably got fed up with it.

+1.

Interesting fundamentals by Sherman there. Where does it say it's ok to hold a receiver with both hands around his neck in order to cover him?

Now if the receiver was smart he would just bear hug Sherman down and knee him in the gut instead of punching the guy's helmet. Dude may NEED his hands if he intends to be a WR.

Oh well. I'd say that is a joke, but we just signed a guy to do the same thing. Did the Polian rules just expire when he left the game? Even back in the old days, I don't remember DBs getting away with such obvious holding.

It does seem like the "point of emphasis" became a point of "I see no gambling here" once Polian left. One wonders about the undue amount of influence a seat on the competition (rules) committee brings.
