I've been away and bought a NFL preview magazine by Anthon's (sp) sports for reading. They listed the top players by position. I was surprised when they listed Devin as the #3 safety in the NFL.

I don't have a lot of time as I'm heading back away from computers and the internet for the next few days. But I thought I would post this for a discussion piece for the forum.

Apparently whoever made this rating didn't watch the last two Patriot playoff games, where he was in a word, AWFUL!

Who were the top two? I'm guessing Thomas was numero uno, but who did they have at #2?

Dont tell Pats68 or deters or whatever his name was......according to them DMC is just average.

that cant be right.. #3?

From what i have read from all teh expert and future GM's on these forums DMc is a scrub and we should only offer him a 4 year contract with 2 million dollars in bonuses, and base salaries of 4 bags of doritos.

IMVHO, he's #1.

He will be noticeably better with better corners.. difficult to see all of his talents when he has to cover for other db's inadequacies.. #3 is about right.

Think he means, http://athlonsports.com/, which is a pay site.

With Revis and Browner on this team, I predict DMac will show just how elite he is this season and will shut the critics up.

Apparently you didn't, either.

Go watch the Indy game, two long touchdowns given up. In a game that the Pats should have had easily, they let Luck score a TD on THREE PLAYS! McCourty was the defender on both of Luck's long TD passes.

Since I'm pretty sure you're making up the last sentence, there, which TDs are you referring to, specifically?

Other than being wrong about the facts, nice effort.

The two long touchdowns to Brazill

Colts first TD you could say McCourty is late but unless you know the play call, you don't know if he's left his coverage once he's seen where the ball is going or if he is actually late. Dennard is in coverage

Colts big gain in the 3rd - Gregory is the safety on that side of the play, Dennard once again is in coverage.

Next highlight is a Colts TD - Gregory is in coverage and McCourty tracks back leaving his own coverage assignment seeing Gregory beat with the ball already in the air and makes a tackle, albeit in the end zone.

Nothing there screams "horrible" play by McCourty.

You would think a moderator on this site would at least have a basic grasp of the game. Or at least at minimum effort to get facts straights.

Andy wasn't kidding when he said this place sucks. It is going from annoying to a whole new level of embarrassment.

I can tell you that the one was McCourty's worst play of the season. I'll have to check on this other one that you're talking about.
