@RayClay I would have wanted him to say, “Adam I gave you everything I can give you on my health historically and currently so let’s move on to the next question”.

I've never heard of this guy and i doubt he has much sway. Hanging up on him probably gets Amendola's charity ten times the exposure it would have from the 30-40 listeners to that show.
Unfortunately that is not the case however, 98.5 is actually winning the war of the airwaves currently so people are tuning in.
For the sixth straight three-month ratings period, 98.5 The Sports Hub is the No. 1 station in Boston in the coveted men 25-54 demographic.
Not to mention Amendola hanging up has been reported by every major sports/football outlet in the US over the past 2 days so it is widespread and detrimental to his charity, and not seeing that or suggesting otherwise is not thinking clearly.

Nobody is going to give to something that Amendola viewed as so insignificant that he hung up on the opportunity to plug it.

Well then, you benefit, because Amendola hating his charity can be a continuing theme in your obsession with him.

*Headline* Amendola gets irate and annoyed. Refuses to answer any questions about his health!

I have no obsession with him whatsoever, I am just not going to sit here and defend immature actions for the sake of it. As I said in my second post in this thread I have had the opportunity to watch some of Rams tape this offseason and I have changed my view on Amendola as a player to some degree and am cautiously optimistic about his 2014 season. His performance as a player is meaningless to this situation, if Tom Brady hung up on an interview that was intended to plug a charity for kids in need I would say the same exact things I am saying right now.

Your problem is that you are so gun hoe on being a players advocate that you do not consider the situation and all the parties impacted by it. You want to stick up for Amendola, but really there is nothing you can say, he made an implusive and bad decision based on emotion at the time, I am sure he now regrets that decision and if asked he would not do what you are doing and try to defend it.

That does not matter; he still would have been able to plug his charity and that is all that matters.

No, he spoke extensively about the aspects of his game that he would like to improve on. Let me ask you a question, would you really expect Amendola not to be asked about his injury history given it has been an issue for 3 straight seasons in the NFL? That is a really naïve belief for Amendola to have if he actually did have it.

And what parts of that include becoming bionic?

"gun hoe"? I swear this guy HAS to be an alien. NOBODY is being an Amendola advocate, it is YOU being a complete and SCARY whackjob with this Amendola obsession. You have ZERO knowledge of how Amendola thinks about anything. The fact that this has to even be pointed out to you illustrates YOUR over the top obsession. Stop telling ANY member of this site that THEY have a problem and look in the friggin' mirror.

It did not include anything it was separate from the discussion about health as was the how was your first season in New England question. I do not think Jones was on a witch hunt to berate Amendola over his health I think he prepared questions that were logical and reasonable for an interview of Amendola. He chose some poor taste in words but still nothing that merited being hung up on.

I guess my question for you would be would you have hung up on Adam Jones if he had asked you that series of questions? Personally, I would not have.

No offense, Brady6 (you, honestly, seem like a decent person with a good heart), but I'm having a hard time making any sense out of your position in this thread.

I would have pulled an Everett and tipped over a table on him. then I would have reached for my gun or my hoe and finished him off.

Too bad Ivan missed this thread or we could get a recreation of Ivanhoe...o_O

I'm sure players pass around names of attack interviewers like that, so he'll be railing about all the players that are "afraid" to go on his show pretty soon as he broadcasts to no one actually interested in football.

Unfortunately there are news and media personalities who have made a living off of being a "contrarian"... Borges and Felger are their role models.

Heard some banter about this on the Toucher and Rich Show last week, I tuned that segment out, so do not remember all of the details..

B6, I heard the interview. Jones threw out the "fragile" label once or twice. You do not call a football player fragile....ever!

He really did not though, I thought that was the case initially based on what I read but listening to the interview Jones was not being pushy and Amendola did not sound like he was distressed when answering the previous questions. He asked him about his first season, the things he would like to improve on in his second season, and then he talked about his history or injuries as well as his current health. It was pretty straight forward to be honest.

I heard the interview. He came right out of the gates with the injury stuff and basically accused him of being fragile. His tone wasn't confrontational, but it certainly was confrontational because he came out swinging with the injury questions and pretty much made it clear that he feels that Amendola is made of glass.

It is not the way you conduct an interview for a charity event. He shouldn't have come out swinging to the injury questions and worked his way into it. You start an interview with three questions about a player's ability to stay on the field (after one softball question) and it is a confrontational interview.

The fact of the matter is Jones is a horrible interviewer. Any good interviewer knows you need to soften an interviewee up with several softball questions and ask the harder questions later in the interview when they feel more comfortable answering questions. Jones basically came out swinging with the tougher questions first. It just shows his inexperience as an interviewer.

Of course. If he wanted a good interview, he would use clever interviewing techniques. Unfortunately, I think he's just an A hole and wanted to goad him into a meltdown to get publicity for himself. He got to trash talk with his radio buddies afterwards, but got no sound bite, so Amendola won. This will fade away.

Oh and I'm just speaking as a generalization. I didn't listen to the Amendola interview, so I don't have an opinion on how he handled it. I'm more so saying that I don't understand where this idea that's it's a positive thing to not treat the media with respect. They are just doing their job.

Fair or not, I think the media as a whole is penalized by the bad apples they have in their midst.

There are times when the media isn't respectful either.

They also seem to be in a rush to be first with a story, which makes them too easily manipulated.

If I were a person of interest to the media I wouldn't want to ever answer a question from them.
