OT: Hernandez indicted in double Homicide back in 2012

The Patriots are after CAP SPACE, not $. The $ paid to The Murderer are a sunk cost. GONE.
The $3+M that the Pats did NOT pay him is the cap space credit they're seeking. Likely credited in the 2016/17 season.
I read they actually want the money back (with good reason) as well as the cap space. I am sure they will see some cap space back but the money will never hit their pockets. Hernandez has had what a couple arraignments, 4-5 other court appearances, and he is already in financial difficulty, the big money does not even begin being spent until trial time. Apparently, he was as bad with his money as he was with his crimes.

According to the Manion interview that varjao posted here earlier, the evidence is so strong in the double murder that it leads to the question of why didn't the Boston police have it back at the time of the murders. That's a good question.

I'm assuming that theory about high profile cases where Police have one shot before the media circus get into scene so any step is taken with extreme cautious and very classified because any leak can blow the investigation.

Authorities now have the gun and the vehicle used in the Boston double shooting...plus a bunch of AHern's buddies in the slammer deciding how loudly they should sing.

And at least one of the guys who survived in the backseat as well, who reportedly saw a picture of him on television and immediately identified him as the shooter.

Can you expand on this?

Unfortunately, probably not as well as you'd like, borg.

If you remember, when Mike Pouncey and the Dolphins came to Foxborough last fall, they gave him a subpoena to appear in front of the grand jury for some unknown reason. At the time, it was reported that they were interested in some type of "gun ring" that linked Hernandez (and possibly even Bradley) to Florida. No one knew if Pouncey was a witness, suspect, or another one of Hernandez's murder attempts (not really).

It's still unknown what happened to this--if anything at all. For all we know, Pouncey could have simply been some type of witness to something that Hernandez said at one point or another, but there were rumors of some kind of gun ring that was supposedly transporting firearms from Mass/Conn to Florida and back. Again, it could have been nothing more than a couple of times that it happened, or it could have been a handful of times or even more. We do know that at least one of Hernandez's guns in custody had been purchased in the state of Florida, but that's about it.

As someone else mentioned, it's probably unlikely that the feds would trump the state murder charge(s), unless it were directly linked and a much bigger story came out. I think the odds of that are probably pretty unlikely, but there's certainly a possibility that there's more to the story, that will make it somehow even stranger than it already is!!

Immediately? Yet this never made the news at the time nor apparently was the Patriots security team informed by their police "contacts". We know the anti-Patriots agenda pile on by the media, so why was this suppressed? Had the Pats been informed I doubt that they would have signed the big $ new contract weeks later.

I'm sorry....I need to be more specific.

He "immediately" identified him when he saw him on television (reportedly), so we're unknown as to when this occurred. In other words, the first time he saw him on television he (reportedly) "immediately" knew that he was the shooter. This could have been in July or the following March. I suppose it was a poor choice in wording.

A revolver has six chambers so I think the real question is if Hernandez fired five shots into the car, where is the sixth bullet, or should I say who is the sixth bullet in.

Perpnandez traveled back in time, and used that bullet to shoot JFK. It all makes sense now!

If Hernandez was to miraculously go free, a team should sign him and have him play at QB. After all, he probably has more weapons than any passer in the league .

back and to the left (go to 2:31)

Just curious-for those who live in the area, what does AH's house in Westwood Estates look like right now? Has anybody been by it lately? Is anyone still living there and/or are there weeds growing all over the place, has it not been mowed in months, etc? I can't image AH is spending money on housekeeping anymore?

I would have to imagine that the development would have certain rules for upkeep, no matter who currently resides there or owns it. Just my take on it though. I'd be more interested in hearing from those who may have seen it somewhat recently.

The fiancé and the baby still live there. I'm sure he would like to sell it but it is currently frozen.

How about that for irony. He'd much rather sell it and force his fiancee and new baby to live somewhere else, so that he can free up funds and continue to waste money on a futile attempt at a legal defense (all things considered), for a crime that he committed on Father's Day. Wow.

The guy who identified him did so when he was arrested, he wasn't a football fan and had never seen him before that.

Which is not an ideal eyewitness, I am sure the defense will argue that he was pressured to say it was Hernandez and that his face being on the news so frequently due to the Lloyd case skewed his identifying Hernandez. Overall, I think the evidence is stacked against Hernandez, but the backseat eyewitness is the least of his concerns, Bradley turning states evidence is catastrophic for Hernandez.

On a secondary note, I think it is very interesting that the defense wants access to Hernandez personnel files form the Patriots. I have felt all along that at some point his lawyers would move to a nonconventional defense that involve some type of head injury defense. It would be an interesting defense, however I feel the DA has done a good job highlighting Hernandez actions prior to and after the murders to show that he was aware of his actions and thinking clearly.
