and definitely not as clutch as he once was.
We just gonna act like the Broncos, Saints, and Browns game never happened?

Tom Brady when throwing to rookies (Dobson, Thompkins, Boyce, and Sudfeld) – 78/165 47.27%, 1106 yards, 8 touchdowns, 6 interceptions, 70.41 QB rating

Tom Brady when throwing to all other players – 302/453 66.67%, 3237 yards, 17 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, 95.32 QB rating

You have to a complete idiot not to realize that Brady had a lack of weapons. For a majority of the games Brady took the field with –

Thompkins – UDFA
Amendola – UDFA
Bolden (3rd down back) – UDFA
Hoomanawanui – UDFA
Mulligan – UDFA
Edelman – 7th round pick
Boyce – 4th round pick
Collie - 4th round pick
Dobson – 2nd round pick

Seriously how the F&CK can Brady lead the #3 offense in the NFL in the regular season, and blow out the Colts in the division round of the playoffs before losing in the AFCCG with an offense that consisted of no skill position players taken higher than the end of the second round and not be considered a top 5 QB.

Of course Brady is still an elite QB and definitely top 5. What has hurt Brady is the constant turnover of his receivers. HOWEVER, his game has slipped in recent years. He's not as accurate a passer and definitely not as clutch as he once was.

He had a great year in 2012-2013. Did you miss it?

Clutch? How many comeback victories did he have last year? Did you miss the Saints and Broncos games?

Two words

Patriots Hate.

I wanna know why no matter how much Peyton chokes, ESPN continues to massage his balls. If Brady did just as bad as Manning did in the Super Bowl, we'd never hear the end of it. But with Manning, his hilarious loss at another ring, his declining arm strength, and his age is swept under the rug.

We are in agreement @RhodyPatriot. Those clutch comeback wins against Buffalo, New Orleans, Denver and Cleveland mean nothing I assume? For those playing at home, that's one quarter of the season on the back of clutch football wins.

A quarter of the season, AND a third of the Pats victories this year, on the back of clutch performances.

I would much rather have Cam Newton then Brady....since he isn't a top QB anymore

Not to mention probably should have had two more clutch comeback wins against Miami if Amendola holds onto the ball and Carolina if Gronk wasn't bear hugged.

Not to mention probably should have had another clutch final moment win against Miami if Amendola holds onto the ball.

Don't forget the ending of the Carolina game either.. If that call didn't happen, the Pats could have very well won that game, and it would have been on the back of a drive by Brady.

I usually have no use for the Steeler fan, but Dave Dameshek can be funny.
Saying Tom Brady is not elite is on the Mount Rushmore of Internet trolling.

Brady may or may not be top-5, but he's still > the horse-faced goober choke artist.

A writer nobody - including all of us -ever heard of decided he had to make a name for himself. In this day and age, you get TONS more attention for saying something stupid than you do for being insightful. So he decides to say something stupid to get a bunch of people all riled up.

And his strategy worked perfectly, as this board proves.

hey im fine with it. its tom brady, he didnt have to be 1st round pick to be HOFer and he surely does not need to be TOP5QB (which a senile man has graded him in) to win us a ring in the upcoming seasonS.

thank you and good day.

Jets fans, Steelers fans, Broncos fans... all in universal disagreement with this premise.

As much as I'd like to believe that Roethlisberger is a better Quarterback than Brady, he isn't. Period. Most Steelers fans have come to terms with that fact.

Having Brady below Philip Rivers is just offensive, even to me.

I found a photo of Sam Monson working on his next column about how Bill Belichick is over-rated:

I was thinking about this. Does anyone have the stats of how often teams blitzed Brady last year vs. other years? Teams didn't blitz Brady as much in the past when he had weapons because he could easily dump the pass off quickly to any one of a number of receivers.

Much of this year, it was Edelman and not much else. You double Edelman and leave everyone one else in one on one coverage and you could blitz Brady. The whole PFF argument for Brady slipping is that he struggled under pressure, but maybe that is because teams brought a lot more pressure because they didn't fear his weapons.

Manning does so well under pressure because teams rarely blitz him because he has so many weapons that teams had to drop most of their defenders into coverage. That meant mostly 3-4 man rushes. It is a lot easier to perform well under pressure if you are facing a 3-4 man rush than when the opposing team sends the house and you got defenders coming at you from all directions.
