Florio is a Hater

Don't like the message, attack the messenger.
I particularly loved Ken's explanation..."My wife is from Florio's home town so I know Florio. Gotcha
Ronnie, Ronnie, Ronnie...do you miss covering boxing? You were actually pretty good at that at one time.

I don't understand the logic of complaining about a mediot and then reprinting his words here. I see the same things concerning Ron Borges. I couldn't care less about either of them and would never read them if their bs didn't show up here.
It's easy really. He writes something about the Patriots and it winds up here. I feel that new posters should know who the doucheknuckles are, so I obligingly point them out. I don't care if it gets him clicks and add dollars and all that. He deserves to be exposed.

That and it's painfully slow now that FA and the draft are over. Need something to talk about.

Patsfanken...Florio's basic psychological problem is he suffers from "Short Man Syndrome". He lashes out in hate filled screeds periodically because deep inside, he feels overwhelming inadequacy.Like Borges, he desperately wants to be a big tough guy when all he'll ever be is a sawed off big mouthed runt running around with his head stuck up his ass.

House sees similarities between Tom Brady, Nolan Ryan | ProFootballTalk

"It’s not popular to contend that Brady isn’t as good as he used to be, dating back to the supposed drop by Wes Welker in Super Bowl XLVI. Some (including me) contend that, if the ball had been delivered between the numbers, Brady would have a fourth Super Bowl ring right now."

If there's anyone out there who pretends to be objective but is so obvious in his disdain for one particular franchise, feel free to point him out. Pro Football Talk is more like a one man crusade of hate.

I hope Brady corners this worm in a dark alley someday.

The quote cited is true. Welker was wide open. That poorly thrown ball was behind Welker and high. Wes not only had to stop on a dime and reverse course but had to jump for the ball.
It's so tiring how many Patriot fans cannot HONESTLY discuss the performance of both Brady and Belichick. Reality is Brady is not the clutch player he once was. Just look at the Patriots home playoff losses to the Jets and Ravens in recent years. Heck look at the Raven game the Patriots won when their kicker missed a very makeable FG. Brady was brutal in that game. Just awful......and he had lots of weapons that year.

The solution is easy. Don't read PFT, it's a crap site. They are always writing something that will piss people off so they get more clicks. Like today when they had an article with Steve Smith saying he likes Flaccos deep ball. So obviously(According to PFT) that means that he hates Cam Newton because he didn't mention him when talking about Flacco. It's a **** site.
Not so much. PFT is an excellent source for breaking news. The editorials are what you should avoid as they are nothing but a steaming pile of crap served to those that, for God knows what reason, enjoy being trolled and then spreading the word about it.

Florio: 5'5"

... and I'm still trying to find a height on Borges.

Im not a height-ist I swear! Ive got biig friends and short friends and we make fun of them equally.. mostly.

So maybe its the same kind of unfairness that gets an assertive woman labelled a b*tch, but Ive personally known several very short men with what Id call Short Man Complex.. hyper aggressive, hyper sensitive and a need to diminish and tear others down.

Florio fits that to a t..

( Get it? Lower case t because he's not tall enough to be an uppercase T.. okay, okay, Im not helping my Im not a height-ist claim here.. :D )

But the fact that Florio felt the need to belittle the Jaguars mascot and brag about how much money he makes tells me everything Id ever want to know about this hack.

And since reading about this Ive done a decent job of not giving them page views from me.

Only thing is a lot of the time when Florio posts news somehow the piece ends up with more editorial than it does news.

That was the game Brady was heard saying "Its like throwing in a forest".

We fans need to realize how difficult it is for a qb to throw over and around the DL jumping and throwing arms up to block these throws.

The Giants were the best in the league at this exact kind of disruption.

When you look at the play from the snap it really looks like Welker slowed as he looked for the pass. Brady looks like he threw expecting Welker to continue straight and full speed towards the inzone

That "terrible throw" was dropped into a zone between THREE defenders each within three yards of the receiver. It was a difficult catch to make, but Welker (A) was not "wide open," and (B) got both hands on it and still should've made the reception.

Consider my perspective as "RecoveringCowboy"

Online in Dallas, I have homers saying Tony Romo is almost Brady - others saying he is more like Rex Grossman. I say above average - brought down by a non-existant defence and owner in denial he is a football idiot.

Romo's stats are pretty and even look as good as Brady's EXCEPT in crucial regular season/playoff wins. From that perspective, Brady is still near or at the top.

It's been a long time since a post made me literally laugh out loud, but this one did. You know, as well as I do, that what you wrote is just patently ridiculous and clearly written with the intention of pissing people off. The problem is that when you continuously write inflammatory nonsense, no one gets pissed off anymore. As I did, they just laugh.

I have been following PFT since before they had their first sponsor (Sprint). In his defense Florio is literally living a dream that any of us would give his right nut to live. Basically he was simply a fan who wrote a blog and grew a few contacts among some agents he knew into being a major mediot with his site and on TV. I can't tell you how often he pisses me off, but you have to admire what he's accomplished.

People should know he's from Morgantown WV. I was my wife's hometown so I'm somewhat familiar with it. The fact is that its a big Steeler area. Believe me most Steeler fans STILL haven't come to grips with those home AFCCG losses to the Pats. And even though "spygate" was a few years later, it became the ready excuse for those stunning losses when they were big favorites. This is where Florio is coming from. So there is no question that he is a BIG Pats hater....but as a jilted Steeler fan, he comes by it "honestly". Why he's such a Manning apologist, I have no idea.

My biggest complaint with Florio is that now that's big time, he tolerates no personal criticism in his comment section, which I find kind of immature. He was quite different "back in the day" when we would have email conversations over topics. Yes Martha, there was a time when the great Mike Florio would return emails to nobodies like me on a regular basis.

So even though most of my comments to topics get regularly edited out, because when I comment its usually to complain about something Florio has said ( ;) ), its still a site I go to daily to get my general NFL info in a quick and concise format.

Yes Ken - I remember seeing your posts there back in the day - I think you and I are among the original commenters there - and these days they won't even let any good natured mocking of the Jets make it through in my posts!

Florio isn't a hater, he is a copycat and a lazy journalist.

This was the second time this month Florio published a negative piece on Brady AFTER another source released the news. He did it with the Talib story too. In both cases, he made a point to blame Brady for the Wekler SB drop. Nothing original here...

Florio's site was something special 10 years ago; before social media took over breaking news and stories instantly. Once he sold out to NBC he became as much about tabloid and aimless speculation as we was about digging out and reporting sources. Now, he's the Tosh.0 of football journalism, just collecting and reprinting other people's stories, then overlaying his snarky comment.

Calling Florio the Tosh.0 of football journalism is an insult to Tosh.0
