How about:

f. Tell the special teams coach that he's not going to play on any STs, regardless of the situation.

Unfortunately, these type of knee injuries will continue to happen, due to the lost art of tackling. For years, players were drilled every day in the art of tackling correctly. Unfortunately, the art of the big hit, and getting yourself in the top 10 plays on ESPN has taken precedence over proper tackling. Now with high hits being outlawed, players feel they can only go low to take down bigger opponents, the fact of which couldn't be further from the truth (there is a lot of room to make a textbook tackle, from the lower chest all theway to above the knee). Hell, Rugby players know how to tackle better than NFL players. It's a shame, but this kind of injury will continue to happen.

I think we're being a bit results oriented with Gronk's injuries. Was Gronk "gronking" DBs when TJ Ward dove into his knee? Was he "gronking" DBs when Bernard Pollard twisted his ankle?

What about when Gronk plays soft and people on this board tear him to shreds for only getting 5 yards on 3rd and 6, when he totally could have gotten that extra yard if he went into "Gronk" mode?

Just let Gronk be Gronk that's when the Pats will be at there strongest. You can't worry about injuries you just half to play the game 100% all the time.

The thing that puts Gronkowski in harm’s way is that he is such a difficult player to defend when the ball is in the air and then bring to the ground. The defender is usually beat and then grasping for anything to attempt to bring him to the ground. This causes him to go to the ground awkwardly a lot. I am not sure how to protect him against that.

He can learn how to use his body and how to fall. Take some martial arts instruction, or something. Tumbling. Watch old Tony Gonzalez clips.

I really do hope Gronk is double bagging it ...........

We've seen rare occurrences where players like A.Peterson can return in only 8 months, and that 8 month point would occur on Sept.7th.

Like everyone else, I am cautiously optimistic that he can open up the season, but even with the recent news about his progress, I am still expecting him to miss the first 3-4 games myself. Bringing him back too early would have much worse consequences than the benefits of having him in the first several games.

Coming from the fans of a team who won 3 SBs with an emotional leader whose mantra was Full Tilt Full Time, the sissification of this fan base is startling.
