Talib on P.Manning vs Brady

Of course Talib would say that. He is Manning's teammate. We all know the truth though. Brady > Manning all day.

Comprehend? Its never that difficult to comprehend the sentiments on this board. Brady is God. Brady is the greatest. And if someone strays from the message, they shall be shoved to the stockades for public condemnation.
So what have I read here. Lets start with Talib's quote...""I mean, Tom is my good friend of mine, but Peyton had an awesome year. He tore it up! He like set the record for touchdowns and beat Tom in the AFC Championship. You got to give it to Peyton." COMPLETE BLASPHEMY right? I read a non-inflamatory statement supported by facts and I personally agree with his conclusion.
Then I read the reactions...
Reaction #1......"
"""Why can't these NFL players be humble? The appropriate answer would be something like:
"Tom and Peyton are both great Quarterbacks in their own right. I'm happy to say I've worked with two of the best to ever play the game." Just seems more respectful to his former teammate."""
.....the politically correct response is always a feel good moment , isn't it. But Talib opted instead to make a choice. On this board, giving an answer that doesn't include the words Tom Brady=greatest leads to ......
Reaction #2......
"""I would not expect Talib to say Brady. He is a member of the Denver Broncos.""""
A fair argument. Who can argue that Talib isn't playing to the crowd. But Talib's statement includes supporting arguments lauding Manning....so the facts of the statement have to get weighed. Which leads to....
Reaction #3......
Character assassination (a favorite Boston past time when players move on to new teams)
"""I loved Talib when he was here, but I knew all along he was an ***hole. I just pretended he wasn't."""
...and...
"""Meh, let Talib talk. Now that he's got his big contract, he's going Haynesworth."""
...And then it gets confusing because the Anti-Manning message strays in multiple directions...
Reaction #4...
..."""The Forehead lost three games last year. If you have the best season ever by a QB, you don't loose any games! We know which QB did not loose any games in a season!!!!""""
So we now know ...A) NFL games are a one on one competition ...and B)incorporating 2007 statistics into an argument comparing 2013 seasons is not only allowed but expected
.....and since the "career" can of worms has been opened up, I'd like to toss in this this tidbit...In the decade since NE last won a SB, Brady is 0 for 2 in title games and Manning is 1 for 3.
""""I have never seen Tom lose a playoff game by himself, to be fair he hasn't always played well enough to win the game, but Tommy sure as sh!t never lost the game.""".... 1st snap bumble leads to safety. Deep Gronk pass into triple coverage, under thrown. The Pats did put up 17 and 14 points in their last to SB visits.

I am mildly surprised several posters actual have come forth with similar conclusions to mine.....
"""Actually it was a smart answer. Not much to debate if you look at the one season"""
and
"""As for Talib's comments, I thought they were pretty balanced. The poll is for the top players last season and Talib was pretty careful to put his "vote" in that context..... Looking just at last season, that's not an unreasonable position to take.""""...........No its not.....at least for some
Honey, you really need to get yourself the new high-speed Rabbit with an 18 decal on it.

Talib is entitled to his opinion. Doesn't bother me.

What does bother me however is seeing a critical piece of the defense get knocked out of his second straight AFC Championship game, this time by a midget.

Ice up son. See you in November.

Talib left for greener pa$ture$ and should keep his comments about our team to himself. I'm not surprised that he can't.

For the same reason I liked him when he was here, I dislike him while he's not:
He's kind of an idiot, so he always says really stupid, but funny things. Dude reminds me of Chris Tucker from Rush Hour.

Who cares? What if he's right? Unless your name is Gisele or Tom, you shouldn't care. How does it affect football, the Patriots, or how the team does? Anything else is just dumb hero worship and jock sniffing.

I would say that Talib was shooting straight from the hip on that one. But, if that were the case, he would probably be on IR already. :(

Don't worry - you won't have to wait long.

"I mean, Tom is my good friend of mine, but Peyton had an awesome year. He tore it up! He like set the record for touchdowns and beat Tom in the AFC Championship. You got to give it to Peyton."

Wait, wait wait.. 'Peyton' beat 'Tom'? No, Denver beat New England. And how did that happen? Maybe the Patriots having their best cornerback standing on the sideline the whole game was the difference? Or is Talib admiting he's not good enough to have been the difference maker?

Edit: Seriously, I can't get over this statement. This moron watched the game from the sidelines and still has the gall to comment on who beat who. He sat out with an owie while the guy that played most the season with a ballon hand dragged the corpse of the Patriots on his back and tried his hardest to get all his wounded brothers to safety.

YES THANK YOU. this pisses me off beyond belief. I loved Talib when he was here and before all the Revis rumors, really wanted him back here but we all knew that the price couldn't be too high because in the last two AFCCG he has failed to be there for this team and screwed us twice.
The Denver AFCCG we probsbly still would have lost with him healthy but it would have been closer so who knows, but the Baltimore game, we could have won with him in the game.

Ugh, agree with you 100% this beyond bothers me. Like he didn't even try to get back on the field in the biggest game of his career.
Jeez I hope that hip continues to flare up the rest of career so Tom can beat Peyton next year as Talib would put it.

A soccer player would say that and we don't like in Europe that kind of answers haha. In america, football players always say what they really think.

It is interesting that Revis has not said barely anything and then you have Talib blabbing on the daily out in Denver. He needs to be quiet we get it you are allowed to talk again.

Hockey players can be the same way. It's refreshing to hear it straight from time to time.

Still, Talib is an idiot. He kept his mouth shut here, but when he left...well, he's no longer our idiot.

Considering that Talib has only ever performed when kept on a tight leash, I don't hate hearing all of these statements from him. It strongly suggests that, after getting that big deal, he's more Tampa Talib than New England Talib.

I said it last offseason, I said it this offseason, and I'll say it here again after the fact: the team that gives Talib a big, long-term contract could quickly find itself regretting the deal.

Interesting, I wonder if Talib watched the Super Bowl last year...?

Manning has now lost 2 Super Bowl directly by his own play.

I have never seen Tom lose a playoff game by himself, to be fair he hasn't always played well enough to win the game, but Tommy sure as sh!t never lost the game.

Guess you forgot about that game VS the Ravens in 2009? 3 INT and a fumble in a first round home blowout loss to a 6 seed? Ring a bell?

Brady has had some horrible playoff games.

18-8. Call me when Manning has even a .500 record in the playoffs.

Brady has had some horrible playoff games.

They had no runningbacks, one wide receiver. 2009 was the 1st season of the rebuilding process.

At least the Patriots don't tank after losing their starting QB like the Colts. ;)

Brady has had some horrible playoff games.

And yet when you add up all their "bad" playoff games and all their "good" playoff games, Brady ends up holding the NFL record for most playoff wins and Peyton ends up holding the record for most playoff losses.
