BJGE back in the fold assuming he is cut?

If he signs for the min, I would take him. If he can revert to how he played as a Pat, he'd be a good 3rd & 1 or 3rd&2 back -- causing us to have to throw less often in those downs.

I'd have no objections to bringing him into camp to see what's left. He certainly is familiar with the system.

Yeah, bring back Lawfirm

I don't see why they should. BJGE was decent here and his ball security issues in Cincy have been documented.

By the way we can certainly point out two games where we fell short for not having a RB with this skill set, Carolina and Miami, Mcdaniels have his part on this as well.

Only bring him in for short money. He's a decent horse to have in the stable as long as there are other, more explosive horses too.

Pass. His last season here I was screaming at my TV when he was getting more touches than Ridley.

We need a Ridley backup in case of injury or fumbilitis. Vereen is the change of pace back and White is his backup.

Between BJGE, Ronnie Brown, Brian Leonard, Bolden, or Houston, I would go with Bolden or Houston, as the former 3 are toast at this point IMO.

I agree with your structure

Ridley
backup to Ridley - now Bolden
Vereen
backup to Vereen - hopefully now White (was Bolden)
Develin - the FB that Josh like to have (we hope for competition)

If we are asking who Belichick would trust on short yardage downs, I suggest that the answer is NOT Bolden. Brady would end up passing more. If we are discussing a backup for Ridley, I surely hope that we have a better answer than Bolden.

As much as I like Lawfirm, let's see what Stephen Houston has to offer instead. 6'0" 230lbs RB who's worst average YPC in College was 4.7 (and that season he got 12 TDs, his best year in that regard).

He also seems to offer something as a receiver, too.

I was thinking about this. I loved Benny when he was here and still love him. The numbers don't tell the story of how good he was for the Pats -- he made the hard yards and didn't fumble. I was telling my friends about that when I went to see Cincinnati play ... and, boom, he fumbled right in front of us! Yes, bring him back if he's cut. But the stories I read after the draft say that Cincinnati will still hang on to him if he doesn't mind being a back-up (why should he?)

If he gets cut then I bet they bring him in, no guarantees or anything but he would have to be cut first by the Bengals for it to happen anyway. I like Ridley better but the law firm is a steady back who despite some fumbles in Cinn is a reliable ball security guy which is a skill Ridley obviously has not mastered.

Why anyone wouldn't prefer him to Bolden is mind boggling.

That said I hope he would be 4 at best bellow vareen, Ridley, and White and not sure you need to spend money there.

well Ochocinco did not work out too well.
Agreed. And LawFirm is not Dillon by any stretch of the imagination. We do need depth at RB. For anyone out there who thinks we can grab any old JAG and plug him in there, you're sadly mistaken. Play action doesn't work for s#!t without a respectable run game.

No thanks.

He did a great job with limited ability while he was here - but i'd much prefer to have a developmental guy getting reps so we can see what we might have if Ridley and/or Vereen leave next year.

BJGE was always a poor man's Ridley whose special skill was that he never fumbled. Now he's a destitute man's Ridley with no special skills.

Bolden's roster spot is the only one in any potential danger, and I don't think Green-Ellis could threaten it.
