And here was i thinking with a draft this deep it would be hard for me to not like pats picks.....lol

Fleming allows them to move Marcus Cannon inside to RG. It is a great pick –

LT – Solder
LG – Mankins
OC – Connolly/Stork/Wendell (best camp wins)
RG – Cannon
RT – Vollmer
Swing OT – Fleming

Wonder if the Pats will try and trade up from 179...

So I guess we're sliding Fleming in at guard? Other than Easley and Stork, this is not a good draft.

I like Fleming and think he can slide inside. I don't love the draft either though.

Cannon's insurance. Seems good pick. We continue with need picks. LBers soon. Probably signing Keller, which is good if, as usual, healthy.

Why do people always go back to the Pro Bowl as an indication of anything when it's well known that it's a worthless popularity contest and doesn't actually have the BEST players in it..

NFLN was flashing that stat all day, just passing it along.

This is a great pick whether he projects to guard or tackle. We needed depth at both spots. If he plays guard, Cannon can be tackle depth. If he plays tackle, Cannon can be a starting guard.

More likely:
LT - Solder
LG - Mankins
OC - Connolly/Stork/Wendell
RG - Fleming
RT - Vollmer

Cannon - reserve at RG/RT

He's a big guy at 6'5" 325lbs so if they want to move him inside it shows we are going for the bigger OL now. Beefing up inside, I like it.
I actually called that happening once Scar left to @manxman2601 in the draft forum a few weeks ago.

USA Sports had him ranked 3rd round and possibly a first rounder had he stayed in school another year.

Unspectacular but seems like a solid pick that needs polishing...

a lot of sites have flaming as a top 100 player.

good value for belichick.

I assume that Fleming will replace Cannon on the roster in 2015. I'll have to revisit Fleming.

Not sure I'd make that assumption. Pats still need a back-up swing tackle

It would also allow us to slide Cannon to guard and still have tackle depth.

I have to say that I really like this draft so far. I think that Easley is a great pick and really filled a need. It might be a year early for a QB. But our team isn't a now only mode. It's a team that can win now and in 5 years with many of the young talented guys on the roster. So if they think that Garoppolo is a guy for the future then I have no problem spending a second round pick at that. Much rather spending that than sucking for years trying to find a QB.

Huh? If anything, White is a replacement for Woodhead, not Law Firm
My response was about the spot White was drafted in. I'm not sure where Deus was going with the comparison.

IMO Easley and Stork are easily the best picks of this year's draft and can contribute right away.

So for 4 months people talked about them needing to get OL help in the draft, needed to get an inside pass rusher and probably needed to take a RB with different questions about Vereen and Ridley.

Pats have filled 4 needs in 5 picks. Disagree on the personnel all you want but you can't say they haven't used the draft to draft certain needs on the team.
