Wow! Bellicheck truly is a moron at drafting. I really hope people will begin to see how bad average he is as a GM finally. This is the dumbest pick in the Bellicheck era I've seen yet. A QB when Mallet is here and has ridden the pine for years? Get some freaking guys to improve the team you have now to win another SB for your HOF QB and your HOF DT. Good lord this was stupid.

No. What is stupid is you not thinking beyond the end of your nose. Mallett is gone after this season since his contract is up. In the mean time, you give Garropolo a year to watch and learn behind Mallet and Brady and then take over next season. That way the Pats have a back-up behind Mallet in the off-chance that Brady gets hurt.

Have you paid attention to free agency at all? The Patriots added Brandon Lafell to the offense. That is just one piece. But they also have Dobson, Thompkins, Boyce, Edelman and Amendola there. Not to mention Gronkowski. They are likely to add another TE, but no TE would have had an immediate impact, regardless of who they chose.

BTW, there are still 6 more picks for the Pats. But, you can always go root for the Jets if you really feel that strongly about the Pats and their 5 time SB winning Coach..

I would like to have Norwood WR from Bama with our next pick

and we still go deep in the playoffs every year. you are right, BB should be fired :/

we traded the pick...any details?

CBS Sports gives the Garropolo pick a C-. Have to agree, terrible pick. Window is closing quickly on Brady's chances. All offseason we were complaining Brady has no weapons. He still has the same weapons. This is a crime they aren't giving one of the greatest QBs of all time some good weapons. Deepest WR draft of alltime and we draft a cripple and a QB who won't matter for years. This draft gets an F so far. What a shame.

How do you grade a draft the "deepest of all time" at a position before anyone from it has even played a snap? Dave those distinctions for 3 or 4 years from now instead of quoting analysts who get paid to throw **** at a wall and watch to see if it sticks. This entire draft is 100% unknown. A "sure thing" does not exist in the NFL. This could be the worst group of WRS ever and the best DE group in history when all is said and done. Pre draft analysis is useless when "ranking" these guys without access to the information teams have.

If the analysts people get their info from knew a damn thing they wouldn't be sitting on TV "grading" these drafts they'd be working in the NFL.

Just a little hunch, maybe Mallett is moved at some point for a player like Andre Johnson. I don't really know if it would work but at this point IDK if BB is ready to roll with 3 QB's on the roster. Mallett late in his contract could be moved to a WR rich team or a team with a guy who's looking to move from a team thats in rebuilding mode.

The Patriots used a 2nd round pick, and possibly their 1st depending on a recovery from an injury, to not improve their 2014 team. Good stuff.

The sure thing is this guy does nothing to help our football team next year. Good use of a 2nd.

I am not really a fan of the Pats using a 2 on a QB. But we did need a back up QB and I expected the Pats to take a QB this draft. So it is what it is. I do like Garoppolo tho.

A lot of the guys I wanted where gone by the time the Pats Picked, so I am not to upset.

8th overall on my board.

Manx and CT know how I feel about Garoppolo.

Welcome to New England, Jimmy!

I hope he's the next Russell Wilson... But those are high hopes. I'll give the kid a chance. BB doesn't take a QB this early unless he is convinced. I'm guessing this is a Josh McD pick though. Somebody really went to bat for the kid.

No one who was left when the Pats picked was stepping in and making impact.

Iapatsfan and Texx show up, no surprise there hahaha

"Named the Walter Payton Award winner, given to top player in FCS, in 2013 after going 375-of-568 (66.0 percent) for 5,050 yards with 53 TDs and nine INTs in 14 contests. Threw for 450 yards and six touchdowns in the Panthers' only regular-season loss, to Northern Illinois. Is one of only two quarterbacks to throw for more than 5,000 yards in a season (Taylor Heinicke, 2012) in FCS history. Was named the Offensive MVP of the East-West Shrine Game."

Well at least he's productive. Those are video game numbers he put up!

Marcus Martin? Chrichton? CJF? You've got to be kidding.

Jesus, this TE class is so overrated. CJF was not stepping in and doing much. I just don't understand the hype of this guy. He might be decent down the road, but good lord he is not stepping in and making a big impact in year 1.

I was disappointed with not getting Martin tho.

The deepest draft in years (supposedly), and the Patriots have not made a pick that is going to improve the 2014 team through three rounds. I like Easley, but the practically universally accepted theory is players don't get back to full strength until the 2nd yr back from ACL surgery.

Every year is the deepest draft in years.

My only problem with this pick is that he's barely over .500 as a starter in the FCS. Can he win in the NFL?
