Why do I think it is? Because
Seymour
Wilfork
Brady

And calling Mesko and Cassel home runs is more than a little bit strong, to put it kindly.

Really? Calling Cassel a home run is a bit strong? A 7th round pick that netted them a 2nd and $8m in cap room??

Can anyone else see SF take Brandon Thomas with their comp pick coming up?

Steelers select Dre Archer - RB

Not banging pom poms at all, just pointing out that coming into the league, Brady was seen as having an average arm at best. You don't think the Pats can refine Garoppolo's mechanics the next few years, add some strength to the arm? He'll be exactly the QB in the NFL that he was in college?

No...he'll be a 6' 2" turtle with a 3/4's delivery. You're dreaming if you think anybody is going to reteach this guy how to throw over the top. He's a flashy college QB like 10,000 other flashes. If they wanted a project why not wait until the fourth round? So now, in this draft that has been riveting with all the talent going to our opponents, we select a "maybe if healthy" and a project, AND move DOWN out of the third.
If anything, I'd have thought they'd at least address the move TE in one of the first three rounds. Instead, we go to the "Stockpile Middle Picks" strategy again.

Meh, i would much rather use that pick. Looking back a few years, the only great pick that we had from lower rounds was Dennard, mainly because he dropped. I expect most of them not making the roster 2 years from now.

This has turned out to be the worst draft day I remember

Packers select Richard Rogers - TE

Logan thomas as a te? Good but he wants to be a qb.

Our draft haul so far: a defensive lineman with two surgically repaired knees and a backup QB. FFS.
I loved the Easley pick but not the QB pick. But god forbid being negative about it. No one here knows if the guy is our future or another early drafted QB who will be a nothing. I am not overly critical of the pick but I am dismayed by the lack of urgency on offense. We are moving onto next season with a very similar if not the same offense.

Julien Edelman... Matt Cassel... Marcus Cannon... Deaderick.. Pryor..

Ravens - Crockett Gillmore - TE

Crockett gilmore! Thought he'd be a good 6th rounder.

Ok then...Brady was 6th rounder and Seymour a 1st who was seen as a reach, how about that? :)

Cassel had a fantastic season when Brady was hurt and netted the Pats the 34th pick in 2009, that to me is a clear-cut value-based HR. Mesko might have been a stretch, but three seasons of elite punting for a 5th is great value.

49ers select Brandon Thomas - G
