Imagine Tom Brady writing this type of garbage?

He was also friends with Matthew Nellessen, who was found guilty of murdering his own father.

I've seen enough. **** this pick. It does not help Brady win a championship nor does it help us in the future.

wow....great pick Bill.

As I said after the Easley pick last night, have you watched this draft? How many players really went where they supposed to? How many had 4 safeties in the 1st? Marcus Smith in the 1st? I never understand how fans can watch two full rounds of a draft go nothing like any mock draft and still with confidence say a player would have lasted until later.

Exactly. Garropalo would have been there at the end of the third, when most mocks had him in the 2nd? Just mindless *****ing. People can hate the pick all they want but when they say stuff like 'this guy would have been there later' they sound ignorant.

Mortenson says he thinks Jimmy G is the Qb Bill Obrien had his signs on.

After reading his twitter posts...ugh

I loved the Easley pick but I hate taking a QB here. Waste.

There wasn't a player available that would have been a starter this year. Certainly not a waste of a pick. If they think Jimmy G is the guy, I'm all for it. They clearly did their homework on all of the QBs.

I hope turns out but frankly i was hoping they would trade up for 1st rounder prospect next year or so instead of picking one now in the 2nd round, i hope it turns out like Rodgers.

This is a value play -- Garropolo will be positioned as Mallet's eventual long term backup, to show the league that Mallet is a franchise quarterback, so that the Pats can then trade Mallet for two first rounders, as has always been the plan.

You start from the premise that Mallet has great trade value, and work backwards from there. You end up with a solid conclusion.

this was a great pick imo. He is the perfect QB for our offense. He has a strong arm and quick release. with all the decent TEs gone, this was a great pick. He will learn the system and take over for Brady.

This pick reaffirms that the Patriots don't draft well in the second......nail the first, super reach in the second...ugh.

i think bb is losing it like al davis before him.
I agree, think he is going a bit senile. Such a strange pick. So many needs, and he sits there watching the best WRs and TEs go, without even attempting to trade up. 2013 may go down as his last good draft. Very odd draft by BB so far. Not even worth paying attention to. That being said, Garrapolo has a super quick release, passed for a zillion yards against high school kids, and had 53 TDs and only 9 INTs (once again vs HS kids).

Actually has a quick release, but not a strong arm. If you're looking for 60 yard bombs, you're gonna see a lot of under throws.

so you like the pick? You were thinking they should pick a third QB with an average arm and small hands from a small college in the 2nd round instead of NIx, Martin etc?

Gotta love when someone just spews garbage and put's words in people's mouths..
I have news for you. Brady had an average arm and was considered to have small hands when he came out. OH, and Garropolo is said to have similar poise, leadership, and pocket awareness as Brady.. But yeah.. Whine some more..

where did those tweets come from, can't find them on his page

Agreed. TE can wait until 3rd or 4th if they didn't see someone at 62 they liked--only guy rated near that pick was Fedorowicz and maybe they didn't like him. Any other position would almost certainly have been a depth pick who gets worked in during the season. If they love this guy I'm all for it, give him a few years of development to see if he can be a legit Brady replacement.

You said it. There's never been an FCS QB that has been able to QB in NFL, let alone win a Super Bowl

Several players still available had the potential to make meaningful contributions if not start, imo: a few of the O linemen, Federowicz, Nix, Crichton, Southward, Kirksey, etc.

Your first - and only - job is to beat whoever they put in front of you. He seems to do that well.

interesting pick, but you need QBs, look at the Packers behind Favre they had a bunch of guys who became starters from Hassleback, Brunell, Detmer, Rodgers. You need a backup or guys you can trade in the future

He can join Brace, Butler, Cunningham, Wheatley, Wilson, etc. on the practice squad.

i thought the same thing at first, but they're there. you just have to keep scrolling down until tweets from 2012 get loaded.

those tweets do make him look kind of immature, but meh. maybe chalk it up to youth? he was 20 years old in 2012, so...
