I'm honestly worried about safety. Don't think anyone saw Bucannon @ 27. Antone Exum? Who else is there? SS fell off a cliff after the top 3.

Man, I'm having second thoughts. Is he gonna contribute at all? Or is he another 4 year back up? I wouldn't waste a second round pick in back up

Father time has never lost. Brady's time will eventually come

Dear Me From Ten Minutes Ago,

Umm, yeah.

Good call. Personally I like the pick. Not a glaring need evidently and probably and hopefully won't be able to help for a couple of years. But I do think he was great value regardless of being picked in the 2nd.

Not mad at the QB pick. But I am not ready for the Brady years to come to an end soon.

As for weapons, I think we field a super solid team and a good chance for SB champion if we get some favorable bounces and not the injury bug. But remember, Tom didn't have a top weapon in the SB winning years, he just used what he had and put up 1 more point then the opponent.

There goes CJF

Houston selects C.J. Fedorowicz (*&%*(&^&%%$%#$%#$)

wow -- Garoppollo. I think the Pats seriously don't believe they can retain mallet. i'll admit garappollo fits the brady timeframe better but... I would have taken the risk of shipping mallet off. maybe we will by the trade deadline if JG comes along faster than expected.
Of course they can't retain Mallett. Brady will be here for a couple of more years. If we kept Mallett we would have to pay him starting money as a backup because he will want to go to a team where he can battle for a starting spot.

Now I hate Jimmy's pick.

CJ would fit so nicely here

Fiedorwicz to Texans. Guess there's now trade for Mallett in this spot, not that it's surprising.

Could the Texans have drafted Fedorowicz as a possible trade of player for player with the Pats?

If the Texans trade Fedorowicz for Mallett, I think that would satisfy me since I hoped the Pats selected a TE in the first round or two.

Two more years on Brady at most I suspect.

Espn just announced Texans take cjfed with first pick in 3rd round....would have liked to have him

I think the main mistake is that we are pretty much sitting pat on getting any offensive play makers. No TE, no WR. We are relying on a plethora of above average to good players but not good enough to overcome a top flight defense.

I don't mind the first two picks but we seemingly gave up on seeking a real weapon for Tommy...
Did they cancel rounds 3-7?

dangit, there goes Fed. That's the consolation TE that I wanted. What are we going to do for a TE now?
Anyways QB > TE in overall value to an organization. But I think after Niklas went, we were looking at a pretty bare cupboard so why not take the QB of the future there?

well, it makes sense if they plan to start Wendell at center and Connolly at RG again..."here's the snap and OH!!!...*smash*..*stomp* *oooof*...(bones breaking)...NEXT QB UP!! LET'S GO MALLETT...CHOP CHOP>..TIME TO GET CHOPPED UP IN THE MEATGRINDER!! YAY!!!

May as well bring Tebow back too....

How long is a 2nd rounder contract? 4 years?

I feel like Brady has 3-4 years left before retiring

One thing for sure with this pick, we wasted a 3rd round pick on Mallet a few years ago if we don't trade him.

Garapollo fits what the Patriots do on offense much better than Mallett ever did. I like him a lot.

Yup RT @danyajegede: even over AJ & Savage?
Greg A. Bedard ‏@GregABedard 7m
The draft is not for now RT @jakethorndike: With a 2nd round pick?? these team could use pieces for NOW, what a waste
Greg A. Bedard ‏@GregABedard 5m
He has a ways to go in a pro system (lot of predetermined stuff in college) but he does a lot of things that will translate

Go back and look at the Patriots' 2nd-round picks. How many were playing before injuries as rooks? Even Gronk was No. 3 TE as rook
