Winners

I have absolutely no idea.

Losers

Buffalo Bills. This is the only team that you can truly say was a gigantic loser even before their player puts on his pads. They traded up for a player regarded by many to the best receiver in the draft, but someone whose talent is nowhere near the "once-in-a-generation" skills of Calvin Johnson or Randy Moss, and virtually everyone had him rated below guys like AJ Green and Julio Jones caliber. The Bills essentially used two ones and a five to get a player who, even if he performs at his peak, will not do much to improve their win-loss record. Take, for example, Julio Jones. He has ended up being every bit good as the Falcons thought, but how did that work out for them? How many needs do they have now? Unless you are drafting a QB or a generational player, it's never worth that kind of bounty.

Meanwhile, the Browns swapped picks with the Vikings, from #9 to #8, for a mere fifth round choice. The Bills probably could have jumped up to 7 and grabbed Mike Evans for a little more. Even if they thought Watkins is that much better than Evans, it doesn't matter. Best case scenario: Watkins goes out and puts up 1400 yards and becomes an all-pro, while the Bills continue to be a bottom feeder team with no depth and no QB. Worst case scenario: Watkins busts as so many can't miss WRs have, and the Bills have yet another gigantic hole with little power to do anything in next year's draft. They'll likely have a top pick next year as well, and maybe they missed out on that transformational QB.

Hmmm. I've seen plenty say that Watkins is the best WR since Calvin Johnson.

Winners for me were the Rams, Raiders and the Cardinals. Losers were the Seahawks and the Jaguars.

Winner-The Rams. Instant major upgrades on both lines.

Loser-The Dolphins-They could have done much better than James where they were picking.

Miami reaches for an OL instead of trading out or taking the BPA. Questionable moves by 2 AFCE teams.

Cue the "you can't judge a draft until at least 3 years!!!!" guy.

I love the trade down by by the Browns. I didn't like the idea of two potential primadonna WRs as the core of the team. CB was a huge need at a premium position, and less risky than a WR. And they got great value from the Bills.
Taking Johnny Football is a risk but they waited on him, then traded up at the right time.

People are puzzled by the Lewan pick for the Titans but it's not much different from what the Pats did with Solder.
The Dolphins didn't get good value so I would classify them as losers.

Loser - Dolphins and Chiefs - Both players were a significant reach. Chiefs at least trade down once.

Winner - Browns - Yep. Still don't know if it was smart to trade up one position, but they were able to get a face for the Franchise, a player that will bring enthusiasm for the folks at the Sadness Factory and a defense Stud, while also obtaining a Top 12 pick next year (probably)

Winner- CLE and STL.
Gilbert and Haden will be a great CB duo for several years, while Manziel, Tate, Gordon, and Cameron COULD be a very explosive offense.
Robinson and Donald are significant upgrades. STL will pound the rock with Zac Stacy behind GR, while the STL DLine just became top 3 in the league with Donald

Loser- PHI taking Marcus Smith while he was projected to be a 3rd to 4th rounder. Not like Easley who has top 15 talent, Smith was a huge reach most analysts have said that I saw.

Bills could have stayed put and drafted a T for the worst OL in the NFL.
Then next years 1 could be used on a WR.
They aren't winning anything this year so giving up next years 1 to move up is plain stupid.

You can only judge at this point on your opinions of the players picked and the trades. That said:

Winners:

Cleveland: Just for fleecing Buffalo out of a 1st round pick and still getting their guys.
Rams: Nailed it
Oakland: Great player fell right into their laps
Ravens: See above.
Saints: Made a bold move to take a player I love in Cooks
Patriots: obviously.

Losers:

Buffalo: Gave far too much to trade up. Personally don't think there is that much difference between Watkins and Evans/Beckham. Certainly not a future first.
Dolphins: Hamstrung by need and had to reach.
Jets: Think Pryor is overrated
Detroit: Don't like Ebron and they really needed to improve their defense.
Eagles: Smith more of a 2nd round prospect.
Panthers: Don't like Benjamin as a player

The Browns were the winners by far in the first round. Grabbing the potential best DB in the draft to pair up with Hayden? A QB to compete with Hoyer? Acquired an additional 1st for next year which will be a top 15 pick?! Damn.

Losers. LOLphins... Reaching for a tackle. They should have grabbed a play-maker or traded back.

Winner - The NFL and Commissioner Goodell.

Despite the incessant whining of countless others, the Draft drew record high ratings in the all-important sweeps month of May. Just as I said: The people most likely to whine about the 2 weeks would be watching anyway, and the casual fans didn't really care.

A lot of the media on the west coast of Florida didn't care for the Bucs first day of the draft. Many hoped for Sammy Watkins and wanted Tampa Bay to trade up if necessary to get him, and viewed Mike Evans as a poor value/reach at number seven. Then when Manziel fell they again wanted the Bucs to trade up to get him, only to see another team do so instead.

You whine a lot about perceived "whining".

Does anyone else think the Giants are losers? Odell Beckham seems like a reach at #12. Their offensive line was sorry last year, any pick along the OL would have been better. They also lake safeties, would taking Calvin Pryor at #12 have been so bad?

When I watched the Giants get their asses kicked last year, I wasn't thinking "oh they just need a 5'11 WR", I was thinking, "Wow, their once awesome defense has completely crumbled" and "I really enjoy watching Eli get hit every other play."

I guess it depends on how you look at it, because on one hand the Rams won day one by drafting two line anchors, but OTOH they really won yesterday two years ago when they made the RG3 trade. If we were crediting them for the trade haul that they pulled then, then it's hard to credit them again for making the pick yesterday.

I have a significantly higher opinion of the Bills than OP does, but I still agree that they gave up too much to get him. As far as value/fit picks, I think that Brandin Cooks to the Saints and Aaron Donald to the Rams were excellent, and also Clinton-Dix to the Packers.

Yeah, that pick surprised me. Based on who was available, I was thinking that they would go with either Aaron Donald (the Rams chose him with the next pick) if they went BPA, or Zach Martin (who went four picks later) if they were focusing on need.

I suspect they panicked after Detroit took Ebron. Beckham was the hottest property in the last week of the draft though.

LOSERS = Colts

Their 1st round pick was essentially Trent Richardson, and we already have solid evidence that he is a bust.

I love Dallas' pick. They completely ignored the hype, the local kid QB, the flawed pass rushers, the overrated safeties, and selected a player who will make their greatest asset (their pass offense) significantly better.

Oakland also nailed it. No flashy WRs, just the best available defensive player. Gives them a second level to their pass rush.

KC blew it. Nobody selects 1st round busts at DE better than Andy Reid.

Winners

Rams - Best OT and best DT. They have owned the draft in recent years
Raiders - Got the 2nd best player @ pick 5 IMO (Raiders winners? FTW?)
Bengals - Dennard @24? Thank you very much

Losers

Miami - I understand why they did it. But bad pick
Eagles - Should have waited on him
Bills - Don't EVER over extend for a WR no matter how good.
Lions - I like the player but he is being over valued IMO and there were better guys on the board

N/A

Cleveland - They won on the trades but so far lost on the players. Gilbert @ 9 is highly questionable. Also Manziel is gonna bust. They got a first next year but if you don't pick good players then it doesn't matter. I can not say if they won or lost though till i see next years pick

Patriots - We will see. Could be either.
