BB to run half marathon

I'm gradually working out (running),not quite a six pack, and a few years younger then BB. No freakin way does he finish.
He just did in 2:41.

That's on the slow side, but probably is what you'd expect of a 60 year old with disproportionate BMI. Props to him for gutting it out. 13 miles isn't easy, either way.

I am 37. And in decent shape I can tell you I would be thrilled right now with 2:36. Training now for BAA half in October.

For a man that age it is actually relatively impressive! I work with a 62 year old gym rat that is a personal trainer and he has trouble with a 10 mile run. He aims for a 10 minute mile, so what Bill did at his age shows that he has determination!

Not all gym rats are built to run or are in running shape. Running actually is one form of exercise that doesn't drop off a cliff in terms of performance with age.

I wonder what kind of brilliant evil schemes BB came up with during his power walk?

good for him. Life in the old dog yet.

He did it! Finished 1 and 1/2 hour after the winner, but completed the race. Gives me hope.

Hey he finished good for him, I don't think he went into this race thinking he was gonna win, he was probably just hoping to finish the race alive.

I can only imagine what a post race BB presser would like:

"There was a lot of good things done today but lots of improvement needed from here on out. I'm going to enjoy this for a few hours and start work on the next race"

Then asked about injury. I am not a doctor, if he says I can run I will , if not I won't run

Mea culpa to Bill Freakin' Belichick.

He faked me out with that physique. Couldn't fathom THAT doing a 13 mile run averaging under 12 minute miles. That's alot of shake and bake.

Age usually doesnt have anything to do with running fitness . A lot of of people have more natural capacity then others. And races like the marathon are really more mental . The coaches I run with are 15-20 yrs older than me but they would run laps around me in a marathon distance :). If you want to know about real age factor in a marathon google "Fauja Singh".

" Come on, you can run faster than that. What do you mean you're tired? I'm 40 years older than you and I just ran a half marathon!"
No sympathy for conditioning test failees this year....
