Trade up possibilities

Gronk, Hooman, Develin(guy can block like 1 and catches decent), Lafell-emergency backup te, and either Dj Williams, Harrison, or a value draft pick te is a weird but solid group imo. I think we will use a lot of 3 wr 1 te 1 rb sets so I don't think te is that much of a need for us. Depth at Rb, Lb, DE is tho

You are nuts if you dont think TE is a priority... Hooman started 10 games and played in all 16 games (over 60% of offensive snaps) and had 12 catches! We need better depth than Gronk, Hooman and LaFell as an "emergency tight end"

I read an article today where the reporter sent #29, #93, Ryan Mallett, 2015 first round pick, and 2015 fourth round pick to the Texans for #1 overall to draft Clowney.

I could never see it happening but it was a creative idea.

Personally, unless we could trade up to #10 and have a near certain chance at Donald I see no reason to trade up in this drafts first round. We are in a good spot at #29 because we can get great value either by picking a player or trading, this draft is prime to have a top 20 talent slide down the draft.

I said draft a value te or big wr and poss Harrison, Lafell, Develin can fill more roles than u think

1. How do people feel about trading up for Anthony Barr if he gets to 20/21 or so? Pound for pound, he's the fastest player in the draft if you take into account 40/3-cone/SS.

2. I look at KC in particular as a good trade partner as they don't have a second rounder and their two biggest needs being WR one OG, both of which aren't necessarily afflicted by trading back. Philadelphia are another very possible trade partner.

I really dislike Barr. I don't think he's a good player at all. I'm no experienced scout but from what I have seen of him he has speed and explosiveness but no awareness whatsoever. He is fooled by playaction/fake handoffs almost everytime. He runs around like a headless chicken and has absolutely no pass rush moves. He'll be swallowed up by tackles in the NFL. Will be a better blitzed than rusher.

He has great athletic ability but he needs so much work as a player. I think he'll be the bust of the 1st round (esp if he goes to the wrong team). I'd be scared as hell to take him in the 1st. I'd consider at 62 based on his potential upside I guess.

I think I may be in the minority in this view though but thats the beauty of the draft. Andy Hart of PFW thinks he could be the best player in the draft.

I think in this draft, with all the depth, unless one of the top few players slip, I wouldn't trade up. I think if Barr is there at 29, he would be our pick, but if we can get what we did last year, a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th by moving back a little, I really think this is the way to go.

DW Toys has a column?

Just FYI, Brother 6: Teams have never swapped Picks ~ to my knowledge ~ unless one of the Picks was On The Clock, and the availability of the targeted Prospect was a dead certainty. I cannot imagine why anyone ever would. I don't mean that as a snarky comment: just FYI, my good man!!

And I agree with you 100%!!

I'm a big Fan, but I think Barr's a Project...and I just don't trust the Patience of our Coaching Staff.

Thanks brother, I had overlooked that but that makes a lot of sense.

In that case, if we had the means to trade up to draft Donald when he was on the board I would make the move. I think he fits a need and could give us an inside presence we have not had since Seymour. Outside of Donald, I would consider a move move up for Evans if he dropped into the teens and Ebron if he dropped into the early twenty’s.

I'm actually not that much of a fan but sometimes the athletic talent becomes too tempting. Barr has that for sure.

I wouldn't because it will involve going too high, but the one person I would love to trade up for is Mike Evans. Almost more than Clowney, Mack or Watkins, I think Evans is a legitimate game-changer. He turns 6-2 CBs into 5-10 ones. He doesn't have Calvin Johnson's athleticism, although he's not that far off, but his size and length makes him almost Undefendable.

I think this is the draft where almost anything is possible. There is so much talent that trading back makes sense for sure. But there are players that are potentially available that we might never get a shot at their likes again. And, as others have said, there might be better value in trading up, rather than back this year because there will likely be some cut price deals.

Ultimately I'm fine with trading up, back or standing pats this draft is going to offer all kinds of surprises and I've given up trying to predict what will happen in the first two rounds because it's borderline impossible.

Doubt Eagles would make a trade then, they would pick him since they need a OLB :(

Think we have to look at the draft in a way we normaly aint doing. Where are the real value? Where are the REAL talent? Whats the dropoff from them to the NeXT? Where are Patriots "needs"?
Combine that and i would say there are 2 worth tradeing up for, Donald and Evans. Ya Watkins is a nice talent, so is Eborn but they aint that much better so they are worth tradeing for. Where the other 2 are talents Patriots as Brady is around, wont have a chance to get.

As others points out guessing whats gonna happend is hopeless without a Little knowlegde of the short and long term plans.

I agree with you that anything is possible, I think that is what makes this draft so fun and interesting. Really getting excited, less than two weeks away!!!!
