Perfect... Less likely to struggle down there in early sept rather than December also team will be jacked for home opener

Yep. Much rather them go there in the early season heat than going in late November.

Wow FWIW .. NE revs are home on 9/7 so it will def be an away game Sunday if played

So I was not misinterpreting anything, but was poking fun at the league's continuing lack of respect for the paying customers.
Well, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Thousand of ticketholders are inconvenienced so that millions of TV viewers get a much better game.

Speaking as a season ticketholder (you know, one of those "paying customers") I don't feel disrespected one bit. I much prefer it this way. Don't you? Or would you prefer being stuck with watching crappy matchups on TV just because it looked like it would be a good matchup when the schedule was made?

If so I wonder if it will be Sunday night. In the past the Dolphins' owner has requested the NFL schedule makers to avoid home games in the brutal September Florida heat and humidity, in order to avoid no-shows and to make it more comfortable for fans at the stadium - despite his coaches wanting the games to kickoff at midday in order to create more of a home field advantage.

Last year the Dolphins started with three of their first four games on the road and only two home games through week six; week three was a late start, week five was an early kickoff and week six was a bye. In 2012 three of their first five were away, but weeks two and three were both early home games. In 2011 Miami had three road games plus a bye in the first six weeks; week one was on Monday night (vs the Pats) and week two was at 4:15.

Miami Dolphins owner wants more late games - Sun-Sentinel

Last year Miami Dolphins owner Steve Ross campaigned to have most of his team’s early home games start at 4 p.m., or later.

Even though most teams - and fans – think playing games at 1 p.m. under South Florida’s heat and humidity gives the Dolphins an advantage, Ross plans to continue advocating for the fans who actually attend the game.

That’s why he’s pushing the NFL for a season with more late starts, and hopes to “duplicate the schedule we had last year,” Ross said on Monday during the NFL owner’s meetings.

“Our goal is to have as few games at 1 p.m. in the early part of the season as possible,” Ross said. “We’ve let the league know that. Last year was a great schedule. If I can duplicate that schedule we’ve done a great job.”

Ross knows how the coaches feel about playing at 1 p.m. (they favor it), but he points out “it’s the fans who come.”

“The fact is when you see you’re winning but still see empty orange seats, and they [the fans] really want to be there, which would you choose?” Ross asked. “I like night games, four o’clock games, that kind of stuff earlier in the year….We’ve let the league know we’d prefer not to have one o’clock games early in September…. It makes for better football fans when you’re there and watching the game.”

Ross is all about enhancing the fan experience.

Not a fan of a game in Miami right out of the gate. Hopefully, it is a Sunday night game to make the heat a little more bearable. Granted having the Dolphins right off the bat may be an advantage because they may take several games to get going.

I am happy that one of the four games without Browner is against a passing challenged QB like Tannehill. He's an ok QB, but he is prone to making stupid mistakes and isn't a guy who typically can kill you in the air. Although he had a good game last year in Miami vs. the Pats, but that was with a depleted defense and a banged up Talib on Mike Wallace and not Revis.

I assume it hasn't been an issue in the past to get the field prepared when soccer is played on a Saturday?
The Revs also have Saturday night games scheduled on 9/13, 10/04 and 10/25.

Find tickets for 'Gillette Stadium' at Ticketmaster
FYI 9/7 is Sunday. But Revs games have been moved back one day in the past no problem. And believe me all of us Revs STH really want the game moved back to Saturday Night. So please I would love the Pats to play at home on Sunday.

And or the games the Pats are playing in less than 24 hours after the Revs game is complete the field is painted on Friday Nights and Revs play with NFL lines. Has been this way since 1996. Field prep takes 18 hours to paint and dry.

If it is in Miami, I hope it's prime time. If it is, your boy Kontra will be there. Love that place even though I've had a beer bottle get buzzed past my head from multiple rows up and got sucker punched by a 30+ year old man when I was 18.

On that note having the Vikings, Raiders and Jets also in those first 4 games wouldn't suck. Watch Tzar Roger schedule in Denver, GB, SD and Indy.

I'm in the opposite position. I end up missing the prime time games because that means taking a day off from work, having to find a hotel to stay at, etc. A Sunday afternoon game means I can join in on a bus/package deal from one of the Patriots bars in southwest Florida, and make it back to work Monday without missing any time. As an extra bonus there are fewer drunks to contend with (like you did) with an earlier kickoff.

Playing Jets first and last game of season like we do Bills would be CRAZY!

From what I'm seeing on the interwebz and twitterverse:

- Lions at Giants in week one on the early Monday Night Football game.

- Giants will be on national television five times total (surprise; if you're 7-9 it doesn't matter if you're from the number one television market): Thursday 9/25 vs Redskins; SNF 10/12 vs Eagles; MNF 11/3 vs Colts and SNF 11/23 vs Cowboys; their bye will be week 8.

- Colts at Denver will be the week one Sunday night game, so forget about a Super Bowl rematch in week one. Indy will have five prime time games, including two on MNF.

Sounds to me like Ben ColinColin doesn't know what he's talking about since the Pats host the Lions this year.
