NFL Schedule Release Date???

I wonder if we see the schedule leaked around 6pm
The earlier the better. I'm planning a few road trips this year and would like to see my options as soon as I can get my hands on them. :)

I think I made a prediction like this in another thread, but here goes

TNF - @ Jets, late in Season
SNF - @ Packers, early in Season (before week 5)
SNF - v Broncos, November
SNF - @ Colts, October
MNF - v Bears, December

I could see the Pats playing the Jets or Miami at home to open and @KC on Thanksgiving Night.

Those seem logical picks for the opponents for prime time games, the Chiefs game might possibly get it over the Bears game as another pretty strong possibility.

Opening day better be Denver @ Seattle. Seeing Manning make a complete fool out of himself again to start the season would be great.

Less than 8 hours.. Still thinking this leaks in the 4-6 pm timeframe .. Just a hunch

No way they waste a game like that.... Everyone will watch that game no matter who the Seahawks are playing..

No way they make that a Thursday night game!
I'm not so sure.... they promised CBS a couple marquee matchups, and this is an AFC contest so Fox won't care if that game is on CBS on a Thursday.... the only other interested party is NBC, but they have no right to complain.

We know they do very well on the opening Thursday night, but I think the league will be very interested in seeing what type of ratings they can get the rest of the season for good matchups on Thursdays.

We may not get the whole deal, but ya I agree leaks will be starting at any time now.

Good Lord, another "The NFL loves Manning and hates us" person.

You're kidding yourself if you don't think the NFL caters to Manning.

The 28 day period before Thanksgiving. So this year will be Thursday October 30th thru Wednesday November 27th.

I am thinking Pats/Broncos will be CBS last Thursday Night game, which happens to be October 30th.

In the past I would agree that there was no way that this would be a Thursday night game, but this year is different. CBS will be producing and broadcasting the first eight Thursday night games, and if my calculations are correct this would be the final CBS Thursday game of the season. We got much better games on Sunday night once NBC paid big bucks for those broadcast rights; I would not be surprised at all to see better games on Thursday nights from weeks one through eight as well.

A couple tidbits about those games that I overlooked when the announcement was initially made: CBS will be producing all of the Thursday night games (all sixteen weeks) - i.e., even the games they are not broadcasting later in the season. Many felt the production values of the telecasts were much lower with NFLN than they were with CBS/Fox/NBC/ESPN; this contract addresses that problem. In addition Jim Nantz and Phil Simms will be the broadcasters regardless of whether it's an early (CBS) or late (NFLN) season game; Nantz and Simms are an upgrade over Brad Nessler and Mike Mayock.

Lastly the NFLN will simulcast the early season games along with CBS rather than putting something on head-to-head with the CBS telecast. At first I thought that was odd, but it does make sense. First offf it gets fans used to turning to NFLN to watch games on Thursday nights, and second there's not really anything else worth putting on to fill that time slot. On Sundays they can have a roundtable to discuss all the games that are either being played or that have ended, and same deal with Monday night; by Thursday those games have been analyzed to death, and with only one game being played it makes more sense to watch it than to sit around and talk about it.

While I don't doubt that, they cater more to a network like CBS that is forking over $275,000,000 for broadcast rights to a mere eight games.

You sound just like the idiots who think the same thing about the NFL "catering" to Brady.

Tell me, were they catering to Manning or were they catering to Brady last year when they scheduled Pats-Broncos for nighttime in November in Foxboro? Or maybe... just maybe... were they just doing what they could to give their broadcast partners the best matchups at the best time?
