Marqise Lee

Wouldn't be happy with a WR in the first.

Too many holes to fill and WR is not one of them. If Hageman, Tuitt, Shazier or Mosley are still on the board one of them has to be the pick for me.

Mosley? That's different.

We already have 3 starting linebackers and play a 43 defense now... Mosley wouldn't even be a starter on this team.

Yes, tight end, d-line, o-line and potentially safety as well. I could see us looking at any of those positions before taking wr. I still believe that a trade back is probable, with us getting a few extra picks. In this deep draft, I don't think that's bad way to go.

I don't think WR is much of a need since there is already a logjam there (Edelman, LaFell, Amendola, Dobson, Boyce, Thompkins)...

but if Marqise Lee drops to our pick, do you pull the trigger?

personally I think he would most likely be BPA and it would be hard to resist even though there are bigger needs at TE and DLine. When he was healthy in 2012 everyone thought he was a top 10 lock.

Then he lost his QB, got injured, and had a down year in 2013. Now he's slated around the 15-25 mark but he could slip a bit since its such a deep WR class.

If Lee is a 1A type receiver he is worth the 29th pick, maybe in year one he gets 60 catches and 5 TDs ( slightly less than Keenan Allen but more than Dobson). Eventually he could end up with 80+ and 7+ TDs.

It is not like LaFell, Amendola, , Boyce, Thompkins are anything great, none of them are playmakers. Also Dobson (foot) is also a concern.

If Lee is still around at 29 and Belichick feels that this is the year to pounce on a 1st rd WR, then I would expect him to be strongly considered. He has a great backstory that shows a lot of maturity and fire, that's for sure.
My main concern would be the injury situation, as his USC trainer alluded to more than one injury on the draft show from ESPN. I wasn't aware of what could be considered multiple injuries. As long as that checks out, I think we could always use to improve our WR options and depth.

Let's allow the cream to rise to the top. That said, we do have a decent amount of money invested in Edelman and Amendola, with Dobson and LeFell hopeful prospects as well. I have no qualms whatsoever about pushing Boyce/Thompkins to the streets however, especially if the coaching staff didn't like some things from last year that really stood out. As a matter of fact, I have my doubts that Thompkins makes it this year as it is.

This all said, I think you're predicted stats from Lee are a bit exaggerated. The NFL doesn't see rookie receivers who do something like that too often. 60 catches his rookie season with Amendola, Edelman, and Gronkowski alone (not even mentioning Vereen) would be quite the feat in my opinion, not that it makes that much of a difference. 45 catches would be great, with the potential to take over even more in the future.

Not a fan of Lee, if we are going to take a receiver early I would prefer to trade back into the second and take Allen Robinson

Robinson is an intriguing prospect just as well.
