What do we expect from each of these guys next season?
Where we go in the draft depends entirely in the belief (or lack of) that BB and his staff have in each of these guys IMO.
Armstead, Boyce, and even Buchanan are as physically talented as anyone at their positions in the NFL so I am not sure that they are upgraded by a pick in rounds 1-3 as you say. It is possible but Armstead has the talent to be the same type of player as a Tuitt or Hagerman, Buchanan physically is more gifted than Ealy, Crichton, Murphy, and some of the other DEs, and Boyce matches up in nearly identical to what Cooks did at the combine.I actually think that these players will have nothing to do with how we draft.
Everyone would be upgraded by a 1st-3rd and everyone would compete with a 4th-7th.
There is not a player on that list that would affect drafting the BPA at any point in the draft.

Where do you gain this knowledge about players we've barely seen or haven't seen at all?
Measurables and combine/workout numbers, I assume.
Which is the same that we have to go on for the guys in the draft so what's the difference?
I am basing it on their combine or pro day workout results along with their college production. Essentially that is the same way you would assess the potential draft picks in this year’s draft that AJ stated would be an upgrade over these player (rounds 1-3).Where do you gain this knowledge about players we've barely seen or haven't seen at all?

These are my predictions –
Armond Armstead – 28 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 4 pass defends (tips), 5 run stuffs
Michael Buchanan – 23 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 2 pass defends (tips), 1 run stuff
Steve Beauharnais – 26 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 2 pass defends, 1 run stuff
Josh Boyce – 31 receptions, 375 yards, 1 touchdown reception, 38 kick returns, 964 yards, 1 return touchdown
Mark Harrison – converts to Flex-TE, 14 receptions, 184 yards, 2 touchdowns
Braxton Cave – signed to practice squad
Josh Kline – released/cut
I am optimistic
I was replying to AJ who said any player taken in rounds 1-3 of this draft would be an upgrade over the players the OP listed. That is not true in terms of talent Armstead, Buchanan, and Boyce rank favorably with just about any player. Since we are comparing them to potential, draft picks who have no NFL experience either the combine results are completely comparable since both the players have limited or no NFL experience.Except what players did at the combine means essentially nothing, something you don't seem to understand judging by your single-minded obsession with posting combine numbers in every single thread related to the draft or even veteran players.
Not every player is going to an all pro from day one. That really does not matter that much to me, Jamie Collins did not have a sack in the regular season but posters still expect big things from him this season, I thought Boyce and Buchanan both showed flashes that if duplicated on a consistent basis would make them good players.Buchanan was a 7th round pick and hasn't proven to be anything more than a project, Boyce was inactive for a number of games and did essentially nothing even when active, and Armstead is a complete question mark. That's not to say that those players won't develop into quality NFL players, but the odds are far greater that they will amount to nothing.
