What do we expect from each of these guys next season?

Where we go in the draft depends entirely in the belief (or lack of) that BB and his staff have in each of these guys IMO.

Josh Boyce - 30+ receptions. Decent KR average.
Armon Armstead - 20-30 tackles, 1-3 sacks.
Michael Bucannon - Same as Armstead.

Zilch from the rest.

These are my predictions –

Armond Armstead – 28 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 4 pass defends (tips), 5 run stuffs
Michael Buchanan – 23 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 2 pass defends (tips), 1 run stuff
Steve Beauharnais – 26 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 2 pass defends, 1 run stuff
Josh Boyce – 31 receptions, 375 yards, 1 touchdown reception, 38 kick returns, 964 yards, 1 return touchdown
Mark Harrison – converts to Flex-TE, 14 receptions, 184 yards, 2 touchdowns
Braxton Cave – signed to practice squad
Josh Kline – released/cut

I am optimistic:)

I actually think that these players will have nothing to do with how we draft.
Everyone would be upgraded by a 1st-3rd and everyone would compete with a 4th-7th.
There is not a player on that list that would affect drafting the BPA at any point in the draft.

Armstead, Boyce, and even Buchanan are as physically talented as anyone at their positions in the NFL so I am not sure that they are upgraded by a pick in rounds 1-3 as you say. It is possible but Armstead has the talent to be the same type of player as a Tuitt or Hagerman, Buchanan physically is more gifted than Ealy, Crichton, Murphy, and some of the other DEs, and Boyce matches up in nearly identical to what Cooks did at the combine.

They're all competition for some of the depth positions on the team. Based on history, I'm guessing at least one of them surprises and contributes a good amount this year, but I'm not banking on more than the one. If I had to guess which one, I'd say Buchanon.

Except what players did at the combine means essentially nothing, something you don't seem to understand judging by your single-minded obsession with posting combine numbers in every single thread related to the draft or even veteran players.

Buchanan was a 7th round pick and hasn't proven to be anything more than a project, Boyce was inactive for a number of games and did essentially nothing even when active, and Armstead is a complete question mark. That's not to say that those players won't develop into quality NFL players, but the odds are far greater that they will amount to nothing.

Nothing from Cave and Harrison. I'm hopeful that Armstead, Kline, Beauharnais, Buchanan, and Boyce can be serviceable depth

Armstead: Solid rotation as interior rusher. Should be more consistent but similar numbers to 2013 Chris Jones.

Michael Buchanan: Hopefully this guy has been doing leg workouts this offseason and has added some mass. Solid 3rd rotation DE/allows Chandler Jones to move inside on 3rd down. 3-6 sacks.

Boyce: Will most likely make the roster becuase of his upside will struggle to see the field as a receiver, but could make an impact as KR.

Harrison: Could make move to flex tight end role. Big bodied with speed and athleticism. Fighting to make the roster but could have a role if he puts everything together. Rare traits.

The rest will be depth/practice squad/fighting for a roster spot. I think Kline will be solid depth because he was good yet unspectacular when Mankins played LT last season.

Expect nothing.

None of them are guaranteed roster spots.

Where do you gain this knowledge about players we've barely seen or haven't seen at all?

Measurables and combine/workout numbers, I assume.

Which is the same that we have to go on for the guys in the draft so what's the difference?

Armstead will lead the league in tackles.
Kline and Cave will be All-Pro
Boyce wil return every kick off to the Endzone
Harrison will become a TE and begin a new trend on the Position, where everyone there is a Receiver
And don't even get me started with Bucannon

I am basing it on their combine or pro day workout results along with their college production. Essentially that is the same way you would assess the potential draft picks in this year’s draft that AJ stated would be an upgrade over these player (rounds 1-3).

Exactly, look at Buchanan compared to Ealy –

Michael Buchanan
Combine Invite: Yes
Height: 6053
Weight: 255
Arms: 34”
Hands: 9 7/8”
40 Yard Dash: 4.71
20 Yard Dash: 2.67
10 Yard Dash: 1.65
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 22
Vertical Jump: 33
Broad Jump: 09'05"
20 Yard Shuttle: 4.44
3-Cone Drill: 6.91

Kony Ealy
Combine Invite: Yes
Height: 6040
Weight: 273
Arms: 34 ½”
Hands: 9 ½”
40 Yard Dash: 4.92
20 Yard Dash:
10 Yard Dash:
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 22
Vertical Jump: 31
Broad Jump: 09'06"
20 Yard Shuttle: 4.45
3-Cone Drill: 6.83

You could easily make the case that Buchanan is the more intriguing prospect.

I think you should sleep on Kline at your own risk.... The offensive line has been first rounders and undrafted's' for years. By all accounts, the vets were impressed with his work and demeanour. He might never amount to much - but I have higher hopes for him than most on this post...

Yes, the Patriots are going to cut Josh Kline who stepped in at LG and was better than solid when Mankins was playing LT.. No. If anything, Kline has a chance to win the RG job.

Beauharnais is likely to be released/cut.

I was replying to AJ who said any player taken in rounds 1-3 of this draft would be an upgrade over the players the OP listed. That is not true in terms of talent Armstead, Buchanan, and Boyce rank favorably with just about any player. Since we are comparing them to potential, draft picks who have no NFL experience either the combine results are completely comparable since both the players have limited or no NFL experience.

You call me single minded but you completely ignored the context of the discussion and just attacked the fact that I introduced combine and college production into the conversation. Well Primetime we are talking about potential draft picks compared to players entering their second season with limited to no experience in the NFL, I am not sure what where the veterans are that you are referring to here but feel free to point them out Mr. Multi Mind.

Not every player is going to an all pro from day one. That really does not matter that much to me, Jamie Collins did not have a sack in the regular season but posters still expect big things from him this season, I thought Boyce and Buchanan both showed flashes that if duplicated on a consistent basis would make them good players.
