2014 Draft Contact List

The year we drafted Chandler Jones, we looked at quite a few 250lb DE/OLB types. I say this because there's no record yet of interest being shown in Kareem Martin and Kony Ealy.

Also note that worked out Louisville defenders so whilst Marcus Smith isn't named on the list, new will have had a look at him.

Didn't the buzz about Chandler Jones come quite late? I remember a lot of talk about McClellin. Not so much about Chandler. I could see Kareem Martin if our guy isn't there at 29 on a bit of a trade back. But, I've been predicting Zach Martin to drop to us.

It certainly looks like a round one/two pass rusher is a good bet for us this year. And yes, Chandler Jones got into the first round talk in the last month or so.

Just saw Pats asked to work out Aaron Murray, the QB from UGA. If there is one QB I want to replace Brady it's him. Too much to like about him, I fell in love wit his play in 2010 actually for his deep passing abilities however he's grown as a player a ton and would be great to see start winning SBs here in NE from '17-'30...Bledsoe to Brady to Murray

Shouldn't he make the rostor before we talk about SB ;)

Can't remember all the announced visits over the weekend that have been lost. Deone Bucannon is new as a visit and was announced today and Athletic Purdue OL Kevin Pamphile was announced as a visit. Will get round to trying to update this thread sometime.

Just noticed Deone Bucannon and CJ Fiedorowicz visiting/visited. Am I the only one who won't be shocked if Bucannon is the pick in the 1st?

i do not want bucannon at all i think we need to give Harmon a chance he was jsut a 3rd round pick if we draft a safety I hope its someone like vinnie sunseri or brock vereen a lot later. For me there are so many more important needs right now than another safety id rather a TE DT OG OC LB DE before a safety with our first pick

Too much gun slinger in Murray for my liking. Either way, I see him going to the Jags. I think the Pats will be looking at a QB much later, if at all, in the draft unless a franchise-caliber talent falls into their lap at the end of the first round.

Harmon could very well make the second year leap into a quality starter, but he ideally looked like a guy suited to back up McCourty as more of a natural FS type. The team does need a SS type of player, and those guys are all over the draft even in hybrid LB/SS formats. The one deficiency that has remained an issue in that secondary since 2008 is an intimidating presence that can also cover at a consistent level. Rodney noted that himself. This secondary is borderline elite. It will become elite with a guy that can cover while also being able to come over the middle and punish those slot receivers and smaller TE's that have had little to no fear of taking a casual stroll over the middle and hauling in a first down on third and long. I don't have Bucannon as my top ranked safety by any stretch of the imagination. I think his instincts in coverage need some work. But with the CB's we have on top of McCourty's range, he's a guy that can come in and make a physical impact in the back end while his coverage definicies are masked at first and allowed to be worked on/coached up. I, for one, am glad they're taking a look at more physical SS types.

I don't think we've had him before but Wisconsin S Dezman Southward visited today. For those of you who don't remember, check out the details of his pro-day.

Completely OT but I didn't think it really deserved it's own thread either. Tulane is looking at new Helmets. I like the dark gray the best and the light blue the second. If they took the green wave off of the top white one and put it on the gray or blue that could look cool as well.
