I dunno. Maybe on a one year deal to see if he works out? Would love the player if he would come without the personality. We already got fooled by one gang banger. Don't want another one, but man, could he open up the passing game! Sigh...

I would have signed Vincent Jackson and another beast 4 years ago, so I wouldn't be in this spot of having Tom with Edelman and unhealthy/unproven guys.

If I was given the team today then yes I would, but if I was Kraft I would have got legit guys years and years ago.

Hell freakin' no. Disclaimer: drama due to character length requirement.

If it's a short deal with little guaranteed money, why not?

I guess you haven't been following the Pats much?

Ya know, like Bob Kraft's story told countless times about how he used to bring his sons to the game and how he was so proud to be able to buy the team and preserve the tradition and make the games a more family friendly experience?

And how all of that got blown sky high due to one person, Aaron Hernandez?

Ya know, the one guy who caused Kraft to have to speak to as ‘One Of Saddest Things In My Tenure Of Ownership’?

There's no way DJax becomes a Patriot. The NJ.com article is not speculation, it names names and gives dates and places and shows photos. Enough of it can be independently corroborated to make DJax someone the Krafts won't hire.

Philly dumped him. He was one of their best players. They could not trade him, and it was not a cap move. do you really need to know more?

Even without gang affiliation, I would not have wanted him signed because of his bonehead on-the field stuff as well as screaming at various coaches and players on a regular basis. The gang stuff makes him untouchable for the Pats for any price..

There's basically zero perspective being shown here. This is a league that draws from lower income demographics that majority of which are going to be connected in some way to unsavory characters or people with bad pasts etc. This "gang affiliation" tag line that everyone is parroting because they heard it on ESPN is so lol, it's a team that couldn't trade him because of his contract smearing him as he leaves. There's nothing there, zero arrests or anything in his past that is troubling.

Comparing this in anyway to Hernandez is insane, not to mention that everyone seems to have forgotten that the Hernandez gang stuff turned out to be media bull**** also. You could probably paint half the league in the light Jackson is being painted in by selectively releasing information about who his "friends" are. If anything he's guilty of trying to act fake hard or whatever with the gang signs but then so is Paul Pierce and a zillion other guys. If you really think the Eagles released him because they were concerned about his "gang affiliation" then lol at you.

This gang hysteria bull**** is so stupid and borderline offensive.

This is all like, Post-Hernandez PTSD with a healthy dose of subtle racism.

I don't want him because I don't think he'll be worth what he gets paid, period.

Randy Moss was a much better clubhouse person than DJ yet Brady & Belichick finally got tired of the bandwidth he required maintaining his diva personality from sulking. And being late for team meetings is a big no-no on the Patriots TEAM.

They also coincidentally traded him right as he started to suck. Media narratives and all that.

Hmm, I wonder, who rated this thread 1-star?

Petty much…:singing:

Ignore the Star ratings. Some moron (not me, some other moron) rates threads one star all the time.

gang rumor===:mad:NNOOOOOO!

If he gets big money, then the "gang hysteria" may be overblown by the fanbase. Getting short money prove that teams take gang affiliation seriously. I lean towards the latter since no one traded for him.

I vote for transferring Troy Brown's brain to Desean's body (after we've signed him that is).

I am undecided with the news of his gang ties. Before that info came out I was most definitely in favor because I believe with him on the team they would basically be unbeatable considering what they did on defense.
But I'll say this...I trust Belichick on this.
Bill is close with Chip Kelly. It is known that Bill talked to Chip about DeSean awhile back. I'm sure he got whatever the real story is on that player. So if Bill did decide to bring him in I trust that it is with the full knowledge of everything Chip Kelly knows and not some kind of blind gamble on a questionable player.

Desean Jackson is only friends with an alleged murderer while hernandez is an actual alleged murderer. If the patriots sign him we could claim that we are still in the process of learning our lesson from the hernandez situation. Plus friend of murderer is a huge upgrade from actual murderer. No on second thought this might be a really bad idea. It did however work for the ravens

Every black, Latino, white kid, whatever creed born in a crime infested, low income inner city is associated with criminals.

EVERY SINGLE ONE.

No one stops being friends or family with someone because of their job.

How can the Patriots sign this guy now? Really...

All of you who want to sweep the "alleged" gang affiliation under the rug aren't getting it. The Patriots organization doesn't want anything to do with that kind of player. Hernandez was cut before the charges were announced (and I don't buy that Kraft got inside info on the nature of the charges). Regardless of BB's supposed pragmatism, I'm pretty sure Kraft cares about the brand more than that.

And no, Jackson's performance on the field could never catch up with his salary, his attitude, work ethic and off-field issues.

In Madden, it'd be great. In the real world...not so much.

Bingo! We've got bingo over here!
