DeSean Jackson Released by Eagles [update]: Signed by Washington

Re: DeSean Jackson will be a Patriot...

I'm sick of people bringing up Hernandez in relation to Jackson

Couldn't agree more! Jackson is a crip whereas Hernandez is a Latin King, there is no analogy there.

So his ex-coach is looking to reel him in, but the moralists on Patsfans.com are too offended to even look into him. :singing:

Its just being realistic. After all the negative press the Pats got last year over Hernandez their is no way they bring in DJax now and pay him $10m/yr. Its just not happening whether we like it or not.

All I have to say is some of you are ignorant and narrow minded if you think Jackson is Hernandez 2.0.

Half the NFL has "gang ties" from growing up in some of these impoverished neighbourhoods.

Man, I wish we could just get good guys like him and Britt and Incognito and bring Pacman and Plaxico and Haynesworth out of retirement and even draft some gems like Lyerla and Matt Hall.

If signing Jackson puts the Patriots one step closer to winning the Super Bowl, so be it. I'm not going to hold him accountable to maybes and the mistakes of Hernandez.

So what you're saying is that you don't mind if Jackson associates with violent gang bangers and killers as long as he's not caught as the triggerman?

Down the slippery slope we go... I'm not that in love with talent to accept that kind of person on the team that represents Patriots nation.

Dude makes Kenny Britt look like a choir boy and we said no thanks to that mess. If the above image doesn't scare you, I don't know what does. It certainly gave me a chill. "Thug for life" isn't just a saying. It's real. There have been mega-millionaire rappers who died from violent gang incidents, guys who had 'made it big'. Ever heard of Tupac?

Holy receiver hands that dude has some long, Johnny Bench fingers.

Not particularly. What Jackson chooses to do away from his place of employment is his issue. There's plenty of criminals who wear $10,000 suits sitting in boardrooms associating with high end NFL talent. I doubt things like these are brought up because they're not visible like gang bangers.

I would take a flier on Jackson on a one year prove it deal. If it doesn't work out, he's cut and you move on. It's a rather simple approach.

Real simple... Until someone gets killed. Obviously it appears that you don't care who lives or dies as long as they bring the Pats another Superbowl trophy.

I just can't bring myself to feel the same way. I care too much for this team to want them to be associated with any criminal taint. One AH is more than enough for a lifetime. No more.

How would a true Patriots fan feel if Jackson comes on board, starts hanging out with a young impressionable guy, like say Aaron Dobson. And then Dobson gets killed in a driveby shooting? I sure as hell don't want to risk that. Not even for a single year.

Lol what does that symbol mean? Where does it originate from? Are all the gentlemen in the picture crips too?

Being so matter of fact you must know the answers to all those questions. Right?

I'm about to blow your mind. I know the guy on left he goes by the moniker philly Freeway he is from north philly he is not a member of any gang he's a recording artist. He is displaying a peace sign.

He was signed to rocafella records known as "the ROC" previously owned by Jay-Z. The hand gesture/symbol for The Roc is......

Actually, the guy has plenty of problems involving what he does at his place of employment as well.

The problem I see is you're judging Jackson on his acquaintances and the Aaron Hernandez experience. I won't do that. I'm happy to admit it's a little concerning and the likelihood of Jackson being a Patriot is low but, I'd prefer to rate him on football matters. The better question is his locker room fit and whether or not the smear campaign has merit.

I'd rather make the decision to sign/ignore Jackson through football matters not personal matters.

Logic like this has no place. Move along sir.

I've seen the fact that he owns a recording label that features hip-hop acts as one of his detractors.

That should tell you all you need to know.

LOL this is hilarious. You sound insane.

What the hell? That doesn't tell anything. How ignorant can you possibly be?

Oh man. It's real easy to tell who the really old guys on this forum are.

It may be skin colour related.

Hern is a blood and Jacks is a crip, deal with it.

Outside of real football talk, the ignorance on here is disgusting.

Tell that to Darrent Williams' family:
Motive unknown in drive-by killing of Broncos player | StreetGangs.Com

This stuff isn't made up, it's real life. I'm not trying to convince anybody. I just know how I feel about it, and I honestly want the team that I care for the most to avoid these kinds of tragedies happening to any of its team members.

The scenario I outlined could easily happen if Dobson got close to Jackson. The following story reveals that Darrent Williams was most likely killed by bullets intended for Brandon Marshall. He just happened to be hanging out with the wrong dude at the wrong time, but how could he suspect being with his own teammate would cost him his life?

Bullets That Killed Broncos' Darrent Williams Intended for Brandon Marshall? | Bleacher Report

It happened folks, and this is not just an AH story, it's real life. And it ain't worth it.
