Steelers To Sign LeGarrette Blount

I disagree with this.

No way Bolden does what he did last year at a consistent basis.

Going into that Bills games this was Blount through 15 games
129 carries
583 yards
4.5 ypc
5 TD (Actually only had 3 TD all season going into the last 2 games of the reg. season)
2 fumbles/2 fumbles lost

Bolden in 9 games (he only saw 1 carry after the Houston game)
54 carries
264 yards
4.8 ypc
3 TD
0 fumbles

Better the Steelers than the Broncos.

Big mistake losing him and not having a Plan B (sign Moreno). Now the Pats have to waste a pick on a running back.

I would have liked him back too, but let's not get silly here. It would have been a big mistake to lose Talib and not have a plan B outside of hope Dennard gets better. It's not a big mistake to not spend money in free agency to replace potentially the 3rd best RB on your roster.

That's a great signing for them. He fits right in with what kind of team that city typically likes. This will be somewhat similar to them getting Bettis. Although not HOF fame good.

He'll play second fiddle to Le'Veon. I doubt he sees a significant workload this season.

I never say this, but that's fine. He was so overrated based on a couple of big games in the cold rain at the end of the year. And I said that before the AFCCG, too, so it's not just sour grapes.

Anyway, thanks for the SI cover, LGB.

Well, there goes the kick return game.

In spot duty hes done well. Small sample size but if the kid can commit 100% to being focused on football and healthy he may have a chance to be a solid #2.

I'm not worried about replacing his production. I'd rather draft or sign a back that can play on all three downs, so we don't have to carry another RB capable of backing up Vereen.

What do you mean, Blount didn't even do it on a consistent basis. He played good in two games and wasn't even a factor in the other games.

He averages 4.7 for his career.....

That would be consistent.

Would have liked to have him back, but if we're going to lose one position, it might as well be running back. I think the top free agent left is Andre Brown with the Giants. I bet we either draft one late or bring in a few undrafted free agents to camp.

Yet Bolden averaging 4.9 is not consistent?

You can't get more consistent than what Bolden did his first two years

56 carries 274 yards 4.9 avg 2 TD 0 Fumbles
55 carries 271 yards 4.9 avg 3 TD 0 Fumbles

But the very last thing he did wasn't a 50 yard TD run so he sucks, even as a backup.

he was a huge hit here...he couldn't have gotten that much...

Titans are set to release CJ...wonder if pats would look into him..

Good for the Steelers.

I liked Blount and I liked the rotation the Pats had to keep both RBs fresh.

Bolden was hurt last year so I wont judge him.

Hopefully the Pats wont abandon the rotation concept and burn out Ridley.
